Sony Professional USA has decided to not just compete, but to SHATTER the film industry with this new camera. It'll be years before anyone catches up.
The camera features a 35mm three layer, unbayered sensor and is said to be capable of outputting an uncompressed RAW signal, or a 4:2:2 uncompressed signal. The ISO has a variable noise free native mode with a range of 16 stops and will work without any ND filters, a first for cinema cameras. It will also feature the first ever non-buffered recording media with a capacity of up to 1.2 TB. The body feature a PL-S mount using internal connections for electronic focus, Iris and zoom. The camera will ship in early May at a retail price range between the cost of the F5 and F55. The camera has been code-named "Uber." This camera is expected to dominate the market, leaving RED, ARRI, BlackMagic, and other high-resolution production cameras in the dust.
