omerzitelia 0 #1 March 2, 2016 Guys, I bought the A5100 for the new season with the 16-50 stock lens. I wanted to ask if anyone had used that camera/lens with fisheye adapter like this one: http://www.ebay.com/itm/HD-Digital-Fisheye-Lens-W-Macro-For-Sony-Alpha-A5000-A5100-ILCE-5000-ILCE-5100-/161987363693?hash=item25b733036d:g:cWMAAOSwYHxWLFlq I don't want to buy a dedicated fisheye lense: 1/ too expensive and 2/ heavy. photognat 0 #2 March 2, 2016 I wouldn't trust that attached to the 16-50 PZ. Something's gonna snap. The 16mm pancake would be a better choice.
Zlew 0 #3 March 2, 2016 Looks like a true lens, not an adapter right? 2 worlds collide here- 1. you get what you pay for (esp when talking optics), and for 20 bucks I wouldn't expect much. 2. it's just 20 bucks so you don't have much to lose if looking for a fisheye effect. Zlew 0 #5 March 2, 2016 that explains how it could be auto focus for 20 bucks I guess. Hard to tell from the pictures, but if you add what you see in that picture onto the kit lens... it would be pretty long. The kit lens isn't exactly short to start with. omerzitelia 0 #6 March 3, 2016 I think this is much better alternative: http://www.ebay.com/itm/NEW-Sony-FishEye-converter-VCL-ECF2-free-EMS-speedpost-/111746097718?hash=item1a04962236:g:n88AAOSw3ydVoX06 I am going to start jumping tandems with the kit lens and see if it works out. I have had a thread before and some guys sent pictures with the kit lens which were OK but you have to fly further from the tandem compared to using a wideangle lens... Which 16 Pancake to you think can workout instead of the stock lens? If it is this one: http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/695859-REG/Sony_SEL16F28_SEL16F28_16mm_f_2_8_Wide_Angle.html I was at the dealer and tested it the angle is the same as the 16-50 kit lens. The advantages to the pancake- smaller, lighter, faster, and probably better optically. I use the 20mm for tandems and love it.
