PhreeZone 20 #1 February 26, 2002 What should the correct steps be if you see a freefly impact is going to happen. Say the situation is your in a sit and the other person is in a headdown facing away from you backsliding fast right at you.....Do you cork/go faster or do you try to absorb the impact?Cause I don't wanna come back down from this cloud... ~ Bush
AggieDave 6 #2 February 26, 2002 In that situation, I would probably just tuck into a ball, aslong as I knew that noone was below me. Figure that I would fall quickly out of their world and/or I would be protected and would be protecting my handles with my legs and arms.Could be wrong though..."Wait...are you selling Penis Mighters?" MarcusV 0 #3 February 26, 2002 Don't cork. Don't absorb the impact (have a look at the fatality reports --> Ampuria Brava last year). Get faster making yourself as small as possible. This is my opinion, but I think it's the only way to really protect yourself in this case.Blues Marcus--Perfect speed, my son, is being there. - Jonathan Livingston Seagull
mikefarmer 0 #4 February 26, 2002 How many people are in the group? I think that would be an important issue. If it were just 2, than I'm afraid I would cork, to get out fast. If more, the ball thing sounds like a good idea...Missy the 225 lb. Meat Missile Sky World

MarcusV 0 #6 February 26, 2002 No please - please not ;-) Make sure you get vertical separation - in this case a zooming headdowner who can't see you is just threatening your life. Fact. PhreeZone 20 #7 February 26, 2002 Lets say a 3 way, 2 headdowners playing and the sitflyer is filming them (can see both clearly). I was thinking Cork since it would be really easy to get the distance between you, but would that throw off the break off too much?Cause I don't wanna come back down from this cloud... ~ Bush
msdeva 0 #8 February 26, 2002 I think I would side slide/stand... hard to say as it's not happening now. I think going into a ball would not speed you up fast enough to get out of the way... but then - the zooming headdowner could still come your direction... I've never tested the ball as means to go low...The best way to predict the future is to invent it.
SkydiveMonkey 0 #9 February 26, 2002 I'd say go into normal box position as you can slow down a lot easier than you can speed up. You shouldn't put a knife in the toaster - but you're an adult now !!!

PhreeZone 20 #11 February 27, 2002 Kinda hard not to when you are carving circles around each other and you only move like 2 feet out... the tendency to keep in motion will make you backslide.Cause I don't wanna come back down from this cloud... ~ Bush
skygeek 0 #12 February 27, 2002 My sugestion is to take evasive manuvers do everything in your power or (skill range) to avoid the impact with out corking. If it comes down to the last instent I recomend the ball for the impact but do everything eles possible before going into the ball. I have taken several hits this way in sit I always ball up and take the hit on your side that way you dont jam any limbs into the oncoming missle. Just dont cork. PhreeZone 20 #13 February 27, 2002 Why not cork? If you can see everyone in front of you and you know you are clear above. I can't think of a faster way to get out of a situation then to just cork.... Going faster will probally take more time then what you have, going into a ball could still leave you in a position to hit the person in the head.I guess what I'm thinking is it better to cork out or possibly hit someone not expecting the impact from behind? (Worry more about your self or the other guy?)Cause I don't wanna come back down from this cloud... ~ Bush
