DiAbLo 0 #1 March 2, 2002 I read a few posts mentioning not going to your belly at pulltime while sit flying.I was under the impression that pulling while sit flying would hurt.Any info on best procedures on pulling during a sitfly jump?
Zennie 0 #2 March 2, 2002 You might have mistaken breakoff with pulltime. At breakoff you don't want to just go to your belly, you want to gradually transition out into a normal track. At pulltime, yeah you definitely want to be on your belly. Otherwise as you said.... WHACK!!!!"Zero Tolerance: the politically correct term for zero thought, zero common sense."
PhreeZone 20 #3 March 2, 2002 You can go to your belly if you bleed off the speed and make sure no one is above you. In fact you need to get horizontal seperation somehow and tracking on your belly is the best way to do this.....That being said.... I've got a few (8ish) sit deployments. Kinda fun and a total rush to go from a sit or stand to being under canopy with out ever going on your belly. Best speed for me is when i did it in a stand at like 165 mph, that one was rockin now. I had this happen on my first time and it hurt the arm for a few days, the D bag went behind the arm is the only reason it did'nt break the arm. Once you have let the PC go and don't have it in front of the arm.... its just waiting for it to take and open the canopy. It will be faster then what you are used to and it will be harder. I don't recommend doing on a canopy that opens hard, good way to knock your self out or break a neck. Pack for a SNIVEL!!!!I've got video of my first sit deployment if you want to see it, or look at Atair's website for some stills taken during sit deployments.Cause I don't wanna come back down from this cloud... ~ Bush
