Levin 0 #6 March 14, 2002 QuoteFriday......I'll be back and try getting a couple of coach jumps inCool. I hope to see you out there. but a couple of things first.1.) I actually just wrote that trying to get more people out so that we can fly otter instead of the 182. there have been more than enough people there keep the otter going all day. he's gonna need a second one by this summer for sure.2.) There is no way i am going to make somebody pay me to jump with them. i have done that a few times in the past and i now i feal bad for it. however if somebody was to secretly go behind my back and paid a slot or pack i wouldn't stop them :0)*just a note to newer freeflyers that may need help (i see a few of you around the dz). all's you have to do is ask. now i really hope that this does not sound negative of me but i like everybody else want to do more challenging dives and improve my own skills so that is my goal when i go to the dz. therefore i don't often ask to jump with people of a much lesser skill level. that doesn't mean i don't want to. so if you are a new freeflyer and you need help with your skills don't sit around and wait for somebody to come and invite you. and when they don't, don't think it's cuz they don't want to jump with you, it's just they're doing there own thing. so if you need help, you need to ask. i'm not going to say no and i'm not going to make you pay for it. but since it's free depending on what's going on, you may have to wait a load or two.my brother is coming down fri. (haven't been able to get him to a dz in 3yrs) so friday is booked. that is with the exception of one or two free reserved coach jumps for snoflake. cya there. airann 1 #11 March 16, 2002 Snow- come down here anyday and I will jump with you and give you the film. Casual jumps, not really for new tricks..I am working on some stuff whereby It would be beneficial for me as well, video stuff.FYI... I know some coolio persons who can coach you anyday at SLand and they are super neato people to know anyway... Ann ~ www.AirAnn.com
Snowflake 0 #12 March 18, 2002 Thanx all ......I must say everyone at Sland was very cool and the vibe seemed very laid back. Levin I ended up going to San Marcos I did a sit with a couple of the local studs(thanx Robert and Chris) and it looks like I need some more solo time.Dave I remember you especially after I gave you packing tips and then found out you had 10 times as many jumps as me(that was kind of embarassing, but you were very nice about it) definitly come to SSM before you leave the country you'll love it.Ann I'll be taking you up on that offer as soon as I learn how to sit and look at someone else without falling over (which hopefully won't take too much longer)Sland ya'll are rockin like Don Dokken......I will be back....with beer evenJG
airann 1 #13 March 18, 2002 Snow- Its all good, ....I know Chris he has been to SLand quite a bit. He was on my 100th. Get those guys back to SLand - see about this weekend... weather permitting come and jump with us. Thanks for being honest and cool about everything regarding current ability, I admire that. I will jump with you and I will try to help you with video or whatever.Listen, when I started freeflying, I didnt have anyone to look to at my dropzone. Freeflyers are everywhere, now. Everyone of us has different abilities and experience. So, you can free flail around with me anytime. Truely, as long as folks know what you will attempt, you can jump with anyone. That is how you learn, vRW or RW. -Dude... the W stands for Work. We will work on it!!-Eric Boyd (EZ Eric) is a fine coach and he is at Sland every single day. You will have pre-jump brief, jumps laid out on paper for you and the (my fav) de-brief with tape. Erg... Well, anyway.... come back down this weekend, no kidding... weather permitting we jump big time!And- it is impossible for you to suck more than I have in my skydiving lifetime. I feel your pain, my brother. LOL, and there is no embarassment about it either. That is just me.These things are easily fixed. But easier with help. Ask me I know! I could have cut way down on the solo effort had I done some coach jumps or if anyone had a camera. I like to think I blazed a trail, but I did not. The best woman freeflyer in Houston is Jennifer and she doesnt jump anymore. She has done headdowns thru RW formations and then went around and did it again.
