Dropzone.com FF Record?

Recommended Posts

The discussion came up a while back in connection with RW records and I don't think any real rules came out of it other than a big-ass campfire is not a "formation". ;)
What I threw out at the time, and I'll throw out here again, is that at the very least it has to be a connected formation. I'm ambivalent as to whether it needs to be slot-perfect. :P

Ok, then I guess I'll come out Saturday morning for the CASA. I have to be at work in College Station by 8pm, but count me in for a jump or two!
As for the record, everyone has to have posted on DZ.com atleast once, and like Zennie said a campfire spread across the sky doesn't count. I would argue, though, that if there is a dock or two in the middle and all the other jumpers are in the frame, that it would count, since big way FF jumps with everyone docked is freak'n hard and pretty damn dangerous unless everyone in the jump is very good.

I don't know that I agree with that. I would think you've all got to be docked (just like RW) to claim a record.
It's definitely hard but that's what makes it so fun!
I definitely think we have the potential to set a dz.com ff record this weekend though!

Do they all have to be head down?

My personal opinion is no. Freefly is all about flying in any orientation, and freefly formations are often a mix of sit/stand/HD.
Although along those lines, should a hybrid consitiute a "freefly" formation?

Everybody has to be docked for say at least 5 seconds?

I believe 3 seconds has been the minimum on other freefly stuff but I'm not positive.

I believe that would depend on what record was being attempted. If we're just attempting a dz.com freefly record then I would think anything goes (good luck getting more than 3 sit flyers docked though! It aint easy.). If we're going for a dz.com head down record then obviously everyone would have to be on their heads.

Any records I think must be docked, anyone can throw 10 sitflyers out of a plane (no skill is needed except at breakoff :D)
According to the new VSCR (Vertical SCR). You may launch a maximum of 4 way (that means grips belly or FF). The other 4 must freefly the exit.
Only 4 people in the dive may remain on belly (of course all may be on their head).
Everyone else may fly in any orientation desired.
Grips must be held for 3 seconds (maybe it is 5)
We did it this past weekend (4 way belly, two hangers underneath to speed it up, 2 HD stingers docked on belly flyers legs), but we only got 7 in for the amount of time the eighth managed to dock for a split second, but then break off happened.
