Rachill 0 #1 July 12, 2002 Last month a few great guys at Spaceland started up a freefly league for the dz. I just want to say that I think everyone should do this if they haven't already. I really had a blast participating in it last month. Then, this month came along and my team kicked some ass in our rounds, and we realized how much better our skills had gotten since last month. I know that the more you work on moves, the better you will get, but a lot of times, people that are new to freeflying just go out and play around with out really working on stuff or don't know what to work on. But, if you go out and have a plan to do certain moves and you crank them out and practice them dive after dive, you will learn so many things so much faster. I know that sounds like a big "DUH"... But really when I started to freefly, we didn't have the freefly league and I just played around with my friends and didn't try to do "real" dive plans to get better. The freefly league gives you a great base to work off of and use to get your skills to where they kick ass! And who doesn't like to see their selves kicking some ass in the air!!! My point is, the freefly league is an awesome thing to do and I would like to see in the future this getting bigger and bigger. I think every dz should start up a freefly league and support your freeflyers. It really is the one thing I look forward to now every month. It is so much fun and it is so great to see everyone from our bad ass freeflyers to the ones just getting started in freeflying participating in the league. I hope to see everyone in last months meet to be there this month and next month! Everyone did awesome. To Trent and Jed who started this for us at Spaceland..... you guys are the shit!!!! 78RATS 0 #2 July 12, 2002 I totally agree. That was the whole idea behind the Gravity Rats Freefly Revolution. We saw some really excellent flying by teams that were committed to improvement through competition. Your skills improve much faster and it is really fun. do you guys like the structured compulsory rounds or free rounds better? anybody interested in another rat comp next year? Rachill 0 #3 July 12, 2002 You know.... I like the compulsary and the free rounds just the same. Compulsary is great because it gives every team a certain dive to work on and get better on. The free round is awesome because you can throw moves in that you think are cool that maybe some one else hadn't thought of, so when you watch the videos of everyone else, everyone can learn new moves! And the best thing about the league is you don't have to be the best on the dz to participate! There is a level for sit fly only and for advanced, and the league is judged on all three meets to see who has improved the most. BooYa#1 GR#50 You might be a skydiver if... Pippy 0 #4 July 12, 2002 yeah.... I think the it is a really great thing too. You and Kat kicked some ass this time and my skills are improving as well. It is way harder than I thought it was going to be to shoot outside and the free round WOW....we did great. I love being on this learning curve!!!!!
