CBurket 0 #1 November 25, 2002 I was just wondering if there were going to be any qualified FF coaches at Eloy for the holiday boogie as I'm guessing that Ortiz and Arizona FF will be booked up by now.
Zenister 0 #2 November 25, 2002 call and ask. last time i asked their schedules werent that full..AFI has 3 instructors (Mike, Sean & Dusty) AZ FF has 2 (Omar and Steve) and there are plenty of qualifed FFers around that would be willing to coach____________________________________ Those who fail to learn from the past are simply Doomed. BikerBabe 0 #4 November 26, 2002 There are tons of FF-ers around that will probably be willing to help you out. I think the Sugar Gliderz are going to be hanging around as well...they are great gals and incredible freeflyers. But call Eloy first and ask...you never know what AFI and AZ Freeflight have available.Never meddle in the affairs of dragons, for you are crunchy and taste good with ketchup! CBurket 0 #5 November 26, 2002 Thanks for the replies, I need to call Eloy, I was just assuming that they were booked because of the volume of people. I'll give them a call and see whats up, hopefully their prices reduced with jump tickets going down for the boogie :)
grosfion 0 #6 November 27, 2002 Why do you always want the BEST freeflyer to teach you (Omar, Olav, Mike .....)? Even if you have around 200 jumps most of the packers on a DZ are able to teach you the basics in Headup / Headdown. I don't think the best freeflyers are necessary the best teachers...... I learned a lot from those guys who pack and are always willing to take their time to do a 1-0-1. But if you have to much money then ........ blues Marcus
ramon 0 #7 November 27, 2002 I believe it is $70 from the locals. Maybe Missy (Missy Nelson, SugarGliderz) will give you one for $56-65 under the table. If you are going to get some coaching get at least 2 (AZ want minumum 5) but you will usually learn somehting you are doing wrong on the first jump and then improve it on the second. Good luck ramon "Revolution is an abrupt change in the form of misgovernment.", Ambrose Bierce.
Zenister 0 #8 November 27, 2002 and they will let you space fun jumps in between them if you have time. In fact AFI encourages it since it helps you consolidate the info you just got and try things on your own without 'performance anxiety', just make sure it fits the 'jump schedule' since they will be rather busy during the boogies.____________________________________ Those who fail to learn from the past are simply Doomed.
