cheneyneel 0 #1 January 5, 2003 I just want to give props to the teams that showed up for a new event in college skydiving.. The Freeflying.. Although it is only gets honorably mention from USPA thanks a lot for the people that did show up and represent new freeflyers. Total props to the guys from San Marcus for taking first place!!!Again!! I hope that in the future that more teams show up.. There were four teams this year at Eloy and without you guys there would have been nothing.. I know that the price everone paid for the event was high and needs to be addressed with USPA. But the Kansas State, LSU, Univ of Texas, and southern Miss represented well.. Cheers and good luck to all that may come back next year..
kansasskydiver 0 #2 January 13, 2003 Honestly, I made a fuss about the increase of price for the FF event. It was posted as 160 per team, then we showed up and it was 127 per person. In the end though, for 5 rounds of competition with the top freefliers in the world as our coaches and video it was worth it. I know KSU had a good time and what i learned about my flying from Steve Curtis was worth my 5 coach jumps for 127. The other thing was the increase from 100 to 120 for competition. Larry Hill gave us all a free jump after competition, so we ended up paying 107 instead of 100, it was well worth it!!! KSU will be back at Lake Wales next year hopefully taking gold and silver! Blue ones Collissions = points
cheneyneel 0 #3 January 13, 2003 Free jump!!??!!! man he didnt give me a free jump!!! and i had to put up with all that BS and he still didnt give us our medals either... man i am pissed off now...
kansasskydiver 0 #4 January 14, 2003 You guys shouldn't have gone to Vegas, and you would have gotten your free jump and medals. Kinda upsetting honestly. We tied with you guys for 2nd place and you didn't even show to get your awards, they almost gave us your medals because of the tie and you guys not showing Flash aka Collisions = points
cheneyneel 0 #5 January 14, 2003 Man it was Vegas!!.. how can you pass up Vegas for new years then critize some one for it.. Skydiving happens all year round and the new year dosent.. Got to love life and life that dosent revolve around jumping.. Sin city baby!! if I had it all to do again I would change a thing..........
kansasskydiver 0 #6 January 15, 2003 Hey i wasn't saying anything bad about vegas at all. i just thought it was odd that you guys paid 120 to enter comp and then 127 a person to compete and then didn't show up for the awards and food etc. but that's cool, next year it's in wales and we'll see you then again for sure. next year, new years in DAYTONA!!! blue ones and good comp chris

AggieDave 6 #12 February 3, 2003 Giving props, aka raising someone up in your approval. Basically derived from the idea that you would prop someone up on your shoulders after something spectacular, sort of like a football team raising the star player after a big win.--"When I die, may I be surrounded by scattered chrome and burning gasoline."
