Jumpsuit recommendations

Recommended Posts

Hello all,

After spending all day on Saturday at Headcorn DZ (Kent, England) in about 1 million degrees heat...

Got my turn to attempt my AFF Level 5 (passed it and WOW!!!), however when kit-ing up and trying to find a spare jumpsuit from the club. Had no luck, my instructor finally grabbed one off another student who had just finished a tandem. To say it was dripping with someone else's sweat would be no exaggeration!!

Being a student, I am trying to resist to urge to go and splash out on loads of new gear. However a jumpsuit I think after this weekend, I can justify.

Anyone have any recommendations on where / what to look for? know any good online sites to take a look at. Something that is suited as a good all-rounder, not too worried about price (nothing gold plated though!)

Many thanks
Ian.

Cat 10 first - since when?

You can get FF1 after you have IC1 no flat flying "required"

FF1 and FS1 are put at the same level in the sticker hierarchy along with IS1 and CF1.

I know Langar want you to pass the 2 way WARP levels (for their IC1+) before free flying which seems sensible to me.

Agree with the Symbi suit plan - I have one that is great (even if I did trash the knee the first time I jumped it due to a spectacular PLF). I know the pain of not being able to find a jump suit - it is so annoying. Anyway just one word of warning - order it and order it now. Mine took, big deep breath in... 15 weeks to arrive...!

You can fork out extra cash to get them quicker but they still take a while - especially mid summer. However when you start doing Warp having your own suit is a big help.

All true - and I know that thats what the Ops manual says - but you just try telling the CCI your doing FF if you dont have Cat10, bet you get some colourful language then.

Technically you can do your Cat10 in FF but I have never been to a DZ in this country, where they will let you do FF without either having a load of jumps under your belt or Cat10 AND being on a coaching jump.
