Best Coach You've Ever Had?

Recommended Posts

"Namdrib" has been an awesome coach for me since I moved south. My learning curve with all aspects of skydiving has definitely shortenedB|. I think the reason his coaching style has been so effective with me is because he's been very patient and has given simple tips that helped him or others he's coached "dial in" on sitfly, head down, etc...also I think that the positive attitude has a lot to do with it!

Coaches that I have actually paid --Nate Gilbert, Gian Carlo and TJ Landren. I was only able to do 3 with Nate and 1 with Gian Carlo, either due to weather or I was a dumbass and sprained my ankle. I had the opportunity to do 10 with TJ this weekend and made amazing progress. I was only planning on doing 3-5, but on every jump another little thing clicked and my progress showed more and more.
I had asked him for headdown coaching, but he said no, I needed to be more proficient in my sit and stand. Of course I didn't like his answer, I knew that he was right though. He did slip in a couple of HD jumps towards the end, and with this help, I FINALLY got headdown. B| He was the perfect person to learn with too, because if I got out of control, he know it before I did and was out of my way. I'm definately starting to put money away now for some more coaching at Rantoul.
I wish I would have gotten coach jumps a long time ago, it is so hard to break habits after doing the same thing for a couple hundred of jumps.

I've never paid for coach jumps, mainly cause i don't believe they should cost. But since i jump at SDC, i have the luxury of having missy, rook, amy, and some other awesome FFers around. I did some jumps with Amy last year and she really got me on my way to HD. So she gets my vote for best coach.

Dusty Smith & Sean McCormick very similar teaching styles from zero to 180 in as little or as much time as you have, both teach total body flight amazingly well..

and that Dusty dude... damn can he track.....
