RkyMtnHigh 0 #1 June 26, 2004 Any of you wear a full face helmet for freeflying? Just curious. I remember when I was doing AFF and full face was strongly discouraged until X number of jumps at my home dz...then, I was under the impression that it was an RW thing. I just got a Z1 and love it! hot as hell in the summer but it's so nice and quiet and IMO great for freeflying. Any input? _________________________________________
AggieDave 6 #2 June 26, 2004 I've seen some folks jump with fullfaces like Z1s, but they've all had problems with the lens flipping up/breaking. Take a look at the Bonehead Boomerang. Not a bad fullface and designed with FF in mind.--"When I die, may I be surrounded by scattered chrome and burning gasoline."

On a 2-way linked FF exit, I took a knee HARD right in the jaw. Had it not been for my Factory Diver, that would have been broken jaw and/or teeth."There are only three things of value: younger women, faster airplanes, and bigger crocodiles" - Arthur Jones. skipro101 0 #5 June 26, 2004 I had a boomerang for my last 50 or so sitfly jumps. I sold it and now have an open face. with the fullface I didnt like: 1- the relative wind trying to tear it off my face when in sitfly 2- restricted vision 3-hott in the plane 4-it didnt have two audible pockets. So now i bought an Bonhead Optik and its all good.
RkyMtnHigh 0 #6 June 26, 2004 my Z1 has 2 audible pocks...my head is on a swivel, so the peripheral vision isn't an issue..but I'm curious which open face you went with...I had a Velocity, but it kept flying off/back during the jump and it was a distraction. _________________________________________
VanillaSkyGirl 6 #7 June 26, 2004 Almost every freeflier that I know and have seen at different DZs wear an open face, but I know that Andrea (Skymama) wears a full-face. I have no idea what kind, but I'm sure that she'd give you her opinion if you PMed her. I am not sure if he is still making a full face other than cam helmets or not. He is a hell of a craftsman though. Never look down on someone, unless they are going down on you.
