Kris 0 #51 September 30, 2003 QuoteClose but not quite :) EPROM can only be programmed once, and needs special hardware to electronically burn the circuits onto the chip. EEPROM is very similar, but the circuits can be reset. What you're referring to is FLASH memory, which can be erased/programmed via software. Think of it as a tiny memory chip storing the software that the bits remember their position even when the power is off. You're almost there. An EPROM is burned the same way an EEPROM is. It can be reused, but you have to use a UV light to reset the chip back to its default config. An EEPROM (electrically erasable programmable read-only memory) is a better choice as it can be done inside the device. EPROM, EEPROM, flash... It's a Neptune thread and we're geeks. 'nuff said. The 2.0 code will be nice, but mine with the 1.17 code is rock-solid. It's always within a second or two of my ProTrack and the display is easy to read in FF. I can't wait to try it with my BirdMan GTi when it gets here next month.Sky, Muff Bro, Rodriguez Bro, and Bastion of Purity and Innocence!™
