myaney 0 #1 August 20, 2003 I just bought a Vector 326 container with a PD 113R reserve and the spec. says it can fit a Micro Raven 109 & 120, PD 113R. I'm curious if I can cram a PD 126 reserve in there, otherwise, how much more forgiving is a Mirco Raven 120 than the PD 113R?
sundevil777 102 #2 August 20, 2003 You should not want to 'cram' anything in your reserve container. There have been numerous threads on Raven reserves lately. Very few posts are complimentary.People are sick and tired of being told that ordinary and decent people are fed up in this country with being sick and tired. I’m certainly not, and I’m sick and tired of being told that I am
Kris 0 #3 August 20, 2003 QuoteYou should not want to 'cram' anything in your reserve container. That comes down to the canopy and your rigger. I have a version 2.0 Tempo 210 in my Mirage (M4 size) which is supposed to hold a PD-160R. It looks perfect. It feels like a brick, but it'll work when I need it to. Myaney: You're best be would be to contact RWS and get their opinion on it or take it to a knowledgable rigger. As for the reserve canopies, I have rides on both a Raven and a PD. I'll take a PD any day.Sky, Muff Bro, Rodriguez Bro, and Bastion of Purity and Innocence!™
myaney 0 #4 August 20, 2003 My main is a Spectre 120 flown at a 1.45 WL. I feel quite comfortable on the Spectre, but worry about how much of a shock might it be to have a reserve ride on a PD 113?

Outcome: don´t stuff a bigger reserve in! And he said that a PD is infinitely better then a Tempo. So is a Techno. BTW this rigger said he´d jumped a PD 113 before and it flew exceptionally nice. He´d recommend a PD 113 over a Tempo 120 or even a size bigger Tempo I believe. No idea about the Micro Raven except for what I´ve read here, but if it were me, I´d either buy a different rig (and a larger PD reserve to go with it) or keep the 113. But then, I´m only 150 lbs... Aks your rigger... ciel bleu, Saskia

I was the happy owner of three Vectors before buying my Odyssey, and remember quite well my rigger advising me not to try and "cram" a reserve which size was not recommended by the factory. According to him (who I respect immensely) the way the vector harness is build around the shoulder and on your upper back(snug and narrow) might cause a too big of a reserve to be locked in the container. If I were you I'd e-mail Mark Prokous at the Relative Workshop and ask for advice directly. The Microraven 120 is not at all forgiving, specially when wingloaded at more than 1:1. I have three friends that had their MR120s stall on landing and were slammed into the ground. Two of them ended up breaking a few bones in their spines... Stick with PD. Maybe even get a bigger container if you want to have a bigger reserve. Good luck!
