mr2mk1g 10 #1 July 1, 2005 I've recently come back from a training trip where my jump buddy and I did a shit load of VRW jumps together. We suddenly realized why all the teams have small grippers on their jumpsuits. 80 jumps later and we're converts where once we took the piss. Does anyone have any recommendations on suits with grippers as options? I've looked into Matter preconception suits, but I need a draggy suit and Matter suits always seem quite slick, along with their advertising which seems to suggest they don't like draggy suits as a concept. Anyone got any ideas or want to put any misconceptions right, shout now.
Peej 0 #2 July 1, 2005 I've seen a couple of Sonic suits around our DZ's, they look pretty nice too. www.sonicflywear.com Advertisio Rodriguez / Sky
piisfish 140 #3 July 1, 2005 The concept is to have tight suits (Matter, Sonic and many others), but with high drag material. Gives control and some drag, but with no fabric flapping around.scissors beat paper, paper beat rock, rock beat wingsuit - KarlM
Costyn 1 #4 July 1, 2005 I ordered a Sonic suit and grippers were indeed an option. I didn't really see the extra benefit of it; you can still grip some cloth right? Or perhaps I was wrong, but several people I asked didn't really think they were necessary. Do you people have them? On a side note, although I was positive about Sonic at first, it's almost 6 weeks now since I ordered it ; delivery was supposed to be 3 to 4 weeks. The suits I've seen are all really nice, quality stuff, but if you're looking to get something in a shorter time frame... Peej 0 #6 July 1, 2005 I personally don't have grippers on my suit but a lot of people are raving about them and there definately seems to be a move towards having them. When i get a team together and we order matching suits i'd consider them for sure. Advertisio Rodriguez / Sky
skybytch 273 #7 July 1, 2005 Flite Suit will put grips on freefly suits, no problem. They are not currently listed as an option on the order form; just note in the special instructions that you want them and where.
Trent 0 #8 July 2, 2005 Yeah, we just got grippers on our new suits... teeny tiny ones and only on the upper thigh. The only time I've even touched them is on the belly-back exit for the speed round. Even then, it isn't necessary. It's nice to have if you're gonna be yanking each other around on certain moves, but I STILL think it's unnecessary. Firefly makes some cool tiny grippers, and she makes it so you can take 'em off if you want.Oh, hello again!
