MissMelissa 0 #1 February 15, 2008 We're going to be posting details on this thread, so please keep checking back for updates! *2008 Women’s Vertical World Record* Camp ~ Monday, March 17th – Wednesday, March 19th Record Attempts ~ Thursday, March 20th – Saturday, March 22nd Sunday, March 23rd is a weather day REGISTRATION World Record Fees Includes, 15 Attempts, Oxygen, Extra Altitude, Judges Fees, Cameraflyer fees, Paperwork Submissions and Miscellaneous DZ Fees. Camp Jumps are additional. Registration Rates will be posted soon. WARM-UP JUMPS We will be organizing for three days prior to the record attempts and organizing no more than 5 jumps per day at 13,000’; it is not a requirement to attend, however, we envision the camp to help determine slots. SDCHEDULE FOR ATTEMPTS • 5 Attempts per Day @ 16,500’ with Oxygen – 2 plane shots • Be on time!! (For dirt dives, debriefs, loads, etc.) Camera Flyers Jason Peters, Norman Kent, Gregg Gason Judges Scott Smith, Sarah Farooqui-Thompson, Jami Pallasch Since we will be adding/rotating people throughout the weekend, it is imperative that the ladies who are not currently jumping on the attempt, keep warm and up in the air. Therefore, ladies who aren’t on the record will be organized by Steve Curits and will be organizing dives that are similar to the record skydives. If you do not get on the first record jumps, does not mean that you will not get on any record jumps. Everyone should plan on staying through the entire day on Sunday, March 23rd. We will be having a meeting at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 19th at the drop zone. Please make your travel arrangements with this in mind. DISCLAIMER BEFORE you register, please be very clear about the following – Paying your registration fee and registering for the WVWR does NOT guarantee you a slot on the actual record dives. The objective of this event is break the current World Record. This event is not a skills camp. After Tuesday, March 18th, there will be no refunds of the registration fee. CHECK LIST These things must be in order to participate on the record attempts: • Current USPA Card (Or a membership in your representatives country’s equivalent skydiving governing board) • A Current FAI Sporting License www.Naa-USA.org (click on “Airsports”, “Membership”, “Individual Membership”, “NAA/FAI Sporting License” and submit the information accordingly • Reserve In Date • Photo ID Preparing for this event involves more than just becoming a better flyer. World record events are very exhausting physically, mentally and emotionally. Building a successful world record requires not only that people with sufficient talent show up, but that they all fly their very best under pressure. Be prepared to perform at your best under pressure. Again, our purpose is to build the largest female vertical formation possible, as safely as possible. The Warm-Up jumps are recommended, especially if we haven't jumped with you, but are not required. It may be a good idea to plan a few warm-ups with the group to get acquainted with everyone's flying styles, fall rates, etc. It is OK if you cannot do the warm-ups, however, if we do not know your flying capabilities there is a higher chance you may start on the "B" team.
