Emmie 0 #26 March 18, 2011 The longer you fly in the tunnel, the more you will develop tunnel muscles, and will be able to go for longer sessions without feeling tired. However, that takes time. Personally, for overall core strength, you can't beat Crossfit. If you don't have one near you, there are lots of youtube videos demonstrating the workouts. I recommend a coach however, to make sure you don't hurt yourself. Deadlifts, thrusters, kettlebell swings, etc. all these will work your entire body. For the most part you are really using your core for every movement. I've had really bad shoulder bursitis for years, and head up flying, even for a few minutes would leave it in pain. Started doing crossfit, developed muscles to take the pressure off the shoulder in just a few months. Also, can fly forever without getting tired. Totally give it a try, so worth it, not just for freeflying, but for your overall health and wellbeing.

I agree.... crossfit is the best but I don't think you need to do it to freefly.... just keep freeflying and the muscles will build.Life is all about ass....either you're kicking it, kissing it, working it off, or trying to get a piece of it. rehmwa 2 #29 April 5, 2011 QuoteIf you want an out of the box solution, youtube "Ab Ripper X" and give that a go.. Ab Ripper is a great ab workout. But P90X is sadly deficient in working the lower back. Other than that it's fantastic for general lean fitness and lower back can be added to the two back days pretty easily. And any of the trendy fitness programs do the job too - what have we seen now just in this thread? Crossfit, kettlebells, yoga, (I also like the rolls noted for the Sydney trainer) it's all just about commitment and variety in the end sounds like just more practice is needed ... Driving is a one dimensional activity - a monkey can do it - being proud of your driving abilities is like being proud of being able to put on pants
jdm0912 0 #30 April 14, 2011 I personally like exercise balls and various crunches and plank exercises you can do with it. Planks on the ground are good too.
tambor 0 #31 May 31, 2011 POWER YOGA and Pilatis exercises are the best you can get There are a few exercises you can do especific for free fly using elastics or cables, but it's hard to write about, would be easier to show... who knows, I might make a video and post late on ... www.joaotambor.com
antonija 0 #32 May 31, 2011 Jazzercise is the way to go!! Plus you'll look super cool in your tight freeflysuit doing it!I understand the need for conformity. Without a concise set of rules to follow we would probably all have to resort to common sense. -David Thorne
pilot-one 0 #33 June 1, 2011 Power Vinyasa yoga specifically. It really helps with your breathing more than most yoga practices that is almost automatically transposed to skydiving or flying in the tunnel. Opening up the hips and building hip strength is a priority for me that really seems to make a diference.
