westcoastSD 0 #2 March 15, 2014 Tracing is quite specific I thought... Atmo is mellow, tracing is fast, tracking is flat. That is how I see it being referred to.

I don't know how "tracing" made any sort of sense in the first place, actually. To trace, according to the dictionary when used as a verb, is "to follow a course, trail". Hence, tracing makes sense because you do a course in the sky that one can follow... maybe?

I don't know how "tracing" made any sort of sense in the first place, actually. Probably due to the 'Not invented' here" syndrome. Marco Tiezzi invented Atmo and it's perfectly good term and he's a really great bloke. (.)Y(.) stayhigh 2 #10 March 26, 2014 I've never been on a tracing jump, ever. Nor I ever wanna be on it. I have been on couple Atmo jumps couple years back and all of sudden same exact shit were being called "flocking" at our DZ. So yeah now I have bunch of HD flocks, feet flocks, and belly and back flocks. I saw and heard wingsuiters using the same terminology but I'm pretty sure they copied it from cool freefliers. Now the newest thing is dynamics??? so still same shit as flocking but adding eagle-ing elements to it.Bernie Sanders for President 2016
