Custom paint job for helmet

Recommended Posts

Yeah, several people at our DZ have gotten custom paint jobs on their helmets. They take them to a Motorcycle shop, and it only runs them around $50.
I would advise going to your local Harley or Leather Dealer, and ask around. If no luck, PM me & i will give you the number for a guy here in Kansas That does SUPERB work for relativly cheap.
GOOD LUCK!

A guy at my DZ got a really sweet one done by a woman near Raeford. I haven't seen him recently, but hopefully SM1 or someone up there can hook you up with her name.

CHECK OUT WWW.RODMANSVISUALS.COM this is Rod Leisure's website. He has painted helments for the Airspeed and many other teams. Being here in Indiana, i have seen a lot ofhis work at several DZ's i have frequented and all you can say is the guy is amazing with the airbrush. I personally have not had him do work yet, but as soon as it starts to cool down and I hang up the rig for the winter, my helment is going to him. check it out there is alot of pics of his work on his site.

I started my skydiving at skydive indiana where rodman was and a lot of the jumpers there had helmets painted by him. His work really is amazing. My girlfriend has a aviator helmet he did which gets complimets everywhere we go. I am planning on having him paint my batrak this winter. I believe in addition to airpseed he did the japan team helmets and a few others too.

The money is worth it to pay a little more for his work. I have seen one teams helmets that train here that was painted by somebody else that is coming off. I have never seen any of his work do that. Go for it, just contact him and describe what your idea is and see what he says. Tell him his work is the talk of dropzone.com the old saying you get what you pay for.

There are actually several VERY good helmet painters here around Raeford, NC. Erica Brown (I forget her maiden name) does some very custom stuff. She did Katie's and COLbrodie's. Another very popular painter around here is Dalton Jeremiah and his "Aloha Air" series of paintjobs. I could dig their contact info up if you like. PM me if you are interested.

Yeah, I should mention that as well. He does great work quality-wise, too. My helmet has been dropped many times, been hit by the bar by the Otter door, etc. The only thing that's cracked on my helmet is the visor. The paint has not chipped at all.
