C00KIE 0 #1 March 11, 2004 OK, I'm not on commission for this particular PD dealer but they really impressed me and I have to share it since it might help out someone else in the future. I have been looking for a secondhand 126 PD Lightning for sometime but there's not much on the market. Eventually I decided to buy new but found most suppliers simply didn't have a clue how to deal with specific CRW terms such as 'trim', line length, 'tail pocket' etc and showed no interest in learning, indeed most seemed positively keen to avoid it. I was having a real rough time finding a supplier that I liked enough to give all that money to. I eventually bought my canopy from Empuriabrava DZ's shop. I hadn't thought of going through them before but got talking to Gary from the shop whilst on a long weekend in Spain and decided to at least get a quote. The two guys that took care of my order, Renier and Gary spent a lot of time with me, checking out the Lightning modifications and specs until I got just what I wanted. What they didn't know they went out of their way to find out and even double check with CRW instructors they knew. They were superb. The most impressive aspect was the price, they did me a very good deal. I know other female CF jumpers such as me probably have the same problem finding small canopies so I thought this might be a useful tip. I am very pleased to be the proud owner of a brand new PD Lightning 126 bought for a very reasonable price and with exceptional care and attention on the part of Empuriabrava's shop. I hope that this recommendation might be helpful to someone looking for the same service in Europe! shop@skydiveempuriabrava.comLife is a four letter word! chuckbrown 0 #2 March 11, 2004 There are some guys from the UK looking to buy Lightnings direct from the US. Apparently, the exchange rate is running in their favor. Congrats on the new toy.
dragon2 2 #3 March 11, 2004 You can also try http://www.parachutecase.nl which is a shop at Teuge DZ, The Netherlands. The Parachute Case is run by Kees & Trees, Kees was on the world record jump so he knows a thing or 2 about CReW Got my Lightning from him. Also there's a 2nd shop just opening at the same DZ (no website yet) which is run by a dutch national CReW team member. And with Henny at our DZ too, you have a fair change of finding the CReW stuff you need ciel bleu, Saskia

C00KIE 0 #5 March 12, 2004 Now boys, just because I'm a girl doesn't mean to say that I put the colour of my canopy above and beyond its very important CF functions and attributions....(purple, Jade and White and it took me the whole weekend to decide that as poor Gary from the Empuriabrava shop can testify!!)Life is a four letter word! piisfish 140 #6 March 12, 2004 these guys do ROCK. they are very interested in having happy costumers. They have a very impressive knowledge on the sport in general, and are not afraid to learn or take critics.scissors beat paper, paper beat rock, rock beat wingsuit - KarlM
relyon 0 #7 March 12, 2004 Stop it! All this happy talk about new Lightnings and great dealer service is really beginning to piss me off. Now I want a new Lightning (like the one Remko jumped on the world record - all white except for the red A-lines), though I can barely afford jump tickets these days. Bwwwwaaaaaahhh... Bob (suffering from CRW withdrawal in the worse way. Just two more weeks to the Shahin Shebang in Lodi!)

C00KIE 0 #9 March 15, 2004 Yes but there aren't too many of us CReW kids around, are there? I wouldn't expect a shop to have an inhouse expert or even an inhouse 'barely-competent-just-lucky-so-far-200-jump-wonder-expert'...mores the pity. From my experience I wouldn't be surprised if I got a crucifix waved at me over the shop counter. This sport needs to be made more attractive, more sexy. Yes colours matter! So does good service!Life is a four letter word!

C00KIE 0 #14 March 17, 2004 Well, it didn’t take long for the tone of this previously legitimate thread to be lowered, now did it? Shame on you. I’ve heard since all this discussion that these boys at Empuriabrava shop maybe going all out to provide a special all-encompassing service for CF Kit geared towards CF Jumpers. They’ve certainly got the right attitude so I’m really looking forward to seeing what they come up with. And yes if it pleases your fetid little imaginations perhaps they will consider supplying specially modified CF Latex jump-suits but that’s as far as I go…IT’S COLD UP THERE! PS: I trust you’ve heard of an all-female record attempt in CF later this year? Dream on.Life is a four letter word!
