skipro101 0 #1 May 15, 2004 Is there a paragliding canopy that can withstand the opening shock of a skydivers deployment? Although I do like to go fast with my canopy, I am also interested in flying it for longer on each jump. I am wondering why skydiving canopies are trimmed with such a steep glide angle and whether or not there are any paragliding canopies out there that are made to be deployed after a skydive. jonstark 8 #3 October 14, 2004 The guy to ask is John LeBlanc. He made one that he jumped at Z-Hills in the 80's. He was in the air forever after the last load of the day... jon

cvfd1399 0 #10 November 14, 2004 I think they only sell to military. I tried to call to get info on a rig I have made by them one time and they refused to say anything.
piisfish 140 #11 November 14, 2004 so I guess you would definitely have to kill to fly one... Or get into some special forces or something....scissors beat paper, paper beat rock, rock beat wingsuit - KarlM

000 0 #13 November 16, 2004 I talked to a guy last weekend that was flying a prototype. He mentioned $5k when I asked the price and also said that they only sell to the military. Looks like it would be fun to jump on the pre sunset load and hang out up wind for a while...tons of hang time. He jumped from about 4.5 thousand feet (?) and the plane went up to 13.5 on jump run, he landed after the last tandem.
