flyhy 0 #1 September 7, 2003 I jump a vector 3 with a sabre 170. I'd like to get a new canopy soon and was wondering how much you can actually downsize on the same container. I wouldn't care about it looking all ugly and slacky but about the closing loop being to lose. I asked RWS about it but all they tell me is that it was made for a 170 ZP . There must be a certain minimum canopy size - or a minimum packing volume. I found a javelin sizing chart on the sunpath webpage. Does anyone know where to find such a chart about Vectors? Jimbo 0 #2 September 7, 2003 I don't own a Vector or know how low you can go, I do have an idea though. Can you borrow various mains from around your DZ and pack them up into your container? That should give you a very realistic idea of what you can and cannot safely put into your container. - Jim"Like" - The modern day comma Good bye, my friends. You are missed. drenaline 0 #3 September 7, 2003 Quoteabout the closing loop being to lose. you can shorten the closing loop so no problem there, the problem I see (am a newbie at the sport only 140 jumps and 3 years and no ratings at all) is that the d-bag would be big and the canopy wont pack tight inside the dbag and (wild guess here) you might get canopy dump. I had a premature deployment due to a much smaller canopy than the rig was made for. I made sure the locking loop was tight enough to have good pin pressure, but never paid any attention to the spandex...... with the larger canopy it was tight, with the smaller one, it was quite loose.
