TulsaHogFan 0 #1 August 30, 2011 I just started doing some canopy relative flight (no contact) and LOVE IT. I'm interested in learning more and getting some coaching. Can anyone recommend a good dropzone with some CRW coaching or a beginner camp? Thanks and blue skies!
BartRN 0 #2 August 30, 2011 If your profile info is correct Wendy in Temple TX is your closest option, followed by Walt in San Marcos, or me in Houston at Spaceland bart Wendy has a camp the last weekend of Oct.. http://www.facebook.com/#!/event.php?eid=149924728429461Some canopies can be fun to fly, but treat you like their bitch on opening. -- Jarno
TulsaHogFan 0 #3 August 30, 2011 Thanks much! I'm actually in Tulsa, though I jump at SDD regularly, though Temple is still closest, but I would probably fly Southwest, so it's all about the same. I would definitely like to go to a camp.
faulknerwn 38 #4 August 31, 2011 Jim McGraw and Steven I believe are still doing crw up at Dallas. Walt tends to jump both at temple and san Marcos. Walt tends to have a lot more time to work with rookies than I do because we've been swamped recently with work I am running a diamond camp at the end of October. It would be good if you could get in some actual crw jumps sometime between now and then though because it's not a 1 on 1 camp but slightly more advanced. ( nothing crazy just not an absolute beginner camp). I can put you in touch with Jim up in Dallas and walt if you'd like as well
grannyinthesky 0 #5 September 1, 2011 Hey Wendy, I have managed to get about 10 CReW jumps in with a couple of 4 stacks, so I'm not entirely a beginner. Would I be ok at your camp? Thanks, Pat"safety first... and What the hell..... safety second, Too!!! " ~~jmy POPS #10490
faulknerwn 38 #6 September 1, 2011 Definitely not a problem. Just whenever you get a chance do crw between one and then!!
grannyinthesky 0 #7 September 1, 2011 Well, I'm heading to Elsinore for Chicks Rock. I know there are a couple of CReW dawgs there. Maybe I can do some arm twisting. Abbie, here in Star keeps promising me we can do some jumps too, but we csn't seem to get him out of the pilot's seat in the plane long enough to do anything else. I'll work on it!"safety first... and What the hell..... safety second, Too!!! " ~~jmy POPS #10490
