Hazarrd 1 #1 September 16, 2003 I just watched a video of 2 people in student tandem harnesses attached to 1 instructor with a tandem rig on. http://www.skydivingmovies.com/dl.php?f=from_TV/19434.asf Is this something that is done regularly? I've never heard of doing a tandem with 2 students. .-.

Fast 0 #4 September 17, 2003 QuoteI bet that guy will be a recipient of a Dawin award soon!! I have seen some video of test jumping where there are 2 people on a tandem, and some video of tandem drops with a payload that is not a person I doubt I would say they are darwin award candidates, unless the gear wasn't properly designed there can be a safe way to do it. If it was with a regular rig, that was "riged" for 3 then I don't know.~D Where troubles melt like lemon drops Away above the chimney tops That's where you'll find me. riggerrob 643 #6 September 17, 2003 Bill Morrisey explained that he wanted to jump with two passengers, but his boss - Ted Strong - nixed the idea years ago. Then someone sent them photographs of it being done in Britain. It is also rumored that a few Russian tandem instructors have jumped with two passengers at the same time. It has also been done a few times with dogs strapped to the passenger's chest. I would love to sew up a harness so that I can carry two Japanese girls -side by side -at the same time. Their combined weight would be less than that of many of my caucasian customers (230 to 290 pounds) and it would be amusing to listen to them chatter between themselves under canopy. I would not have a clue what they were saying, but it would be amusing anyways. Now if I can just convince my boss to buy an airplane with a wider door .... Hee! Hee! JeffD 0 #7 September 17, 2003 Now I could see this going very bad. After the TM hooks up to the first person (the one sandwiched) and forgets to hook up the second one. Ouch.
