New personal bests

Recommended Posts

I put 4 jumps on my GTi on Friday and got my first flights over 2 minutes and my first average fallrates below 50mph (47) :)All I changed in my flying style was to try to keep the wings as taught as possible by pointing my toes outwards and by grabbing the wingtips - what an amazing difference, I've knocked nearly 10mph off my previous averages and it feels like my horizontal speed has improved dramatically - I was smokin'!

I'll post the JumpTrack graph tomorrow but at one point it has my fallrate down to about 35mph so 40mph has to be an achievable average, right?

Hey! I got a new personal best today too ...
I have no idea the exact numbers tho, I'm only guessing somewhere close to the 2min range maybe ...
My Pro-Track said I deployed at 10000ft!! I guess at that point I really dropped my vertical speed!! I dearched, rolled my shoulders, pointed my toes really straight, and made my wings perfect and I felt myself pretty much stop, lol ... I wish I knew how slow I was going, but the time from exit (13500) to that deployment of 10000 was 38 seconds and the average of that (that's all it shows) was 54mph ... any clue as to how slow I actually went???
Horizontal distance was about 2.5miles (according to the GPS the pilot had).
It was an awesome flight, ahhhhh! Loved it ...
This is on an original classic ... can't wait for my GTi!

Trailer 11/12 was the best. Thanks for the memories ... you guys rocked!

Gus, too bad we didn't get any skyflying done together; want to jump with you before you leave me in the dust! But I think it might have slowed us down for the £100 weekend and we wanted toget our money's worth!

Not going to be back up for at least a couple of weeks though :-(

Edit: p.s. send me your ProTrack files and I'll put them up on www.JumpTrack.com!

Gus has sent me some of his data and it's now available here. If anybody else would like their data available on jumptrack.com then send me your files (remember all 3 files - *.MB, *.DB, *.PX from the Jumps sub-directory and zipped up please)

Apparently, Will has some "wing suit" experience

Yeah, I learnt that if you don't keep your arms symmetrical when you pull, and then allow a wing to inflate, there is a chance you *might* put yourself in line-twists... ;)

(I also learnt that doing your EPs with loops over your thumbs can result in your thumbs being bent back a bit)

Will

PS this was on a Symbi camerasuit (big wings)
