gus 1 #1 April 22, 2003 I know we have a few here (yes Craig, I can see you holding your hand up at the back), so what's involved? What are you taught to teach and what's required in the air? I'm barely stable alot of the time so I'm not thinking about myself but I'm wondering what you guys teach that I didn't get taught by the guy that briefed me up. What are you taught to teach and what's required in the air? Basically what's on the BirdMan Instructor Checklist, although that one looks a bit out of date. This is quite bare bones though and a lot of time is spent on the course on the underlying issues. You should see the large amount of notes I wrote around the checklist. The basic outcome is a standard level of instruction and you are evaluated on your teaching. In the air, you are required to evaluate a students performance and give signals that were briefed on the ground to improve their flight and awareness. I was worried about the in-air evaluation because of my size and skill (especially compared to Jari!) but like I said, he plays a good student!Skydiving Fatalities - Cease not to learn 'til thou cease to live
