r2hubert 0 #1 April 24, 2003 I'm just wondering if I want a LQRS on my Birdman suit or not. I'm not going to BASE with it, it's only for skydiving. I would like to get some opinion on this option, if it's worth it. Does it interfere with the flight spec of the suit? Thanks -- Renaud SMA #9 "Mind is like parachute. leroydb 0 #2 April 24, 2003 After a recent line-twist induced cut-away I will tell you this: I had severe line twists on my main AND reserve and did not have to use it. Now would it have made it easier to untwist my reserve? Maybe it would have, but I found that I didn't have to. I uploaded a video of the almsot double malfuncation to the ftp video site (someone post the link please) Very hairy, but I was excited when I got to the ground, mainly because I was alive. Can't wait to get back from my 2nd deployment to afghanistan and jump A.S.A.P! Le RoyLeroy ..I knew I was an unwanted baby when I saw my bath toys were a toaster and a radio... kevin922 0 #3 April 24, 2003 um.. i got it for peace of mind, i've had severe line twists before have cut my wings 2? maybe 3? times and never did I go for the lqrs. for some reason i get brain freeze on line twists, i'll get my wings cut and hands go immediately to the risers to start trying to stop the spin.. i can't bring myself to let go of the risers to cut the leg.. someone was playing around with the idea of connecting the leg and the wing releases together as one handle. I have used it once back in my early birdman carrer i knocked a bootie off on exit which later induced a flat spin .. i tried flying the suit with one bootie on and one off but just couldn't maintain it.. cut the leg and was good to go. If you ever want to sell it after moving up to a different suit (I'm assuming you aren't ordering a SF), the LQRS will claim a higher price in less time. I don't have a LQRS on my GTi, but I could have used it on one particular jump in DeLand. Oops!"¯"`-._.-¯) ManBird (¯-._.-´"¯" Click
Spizzzarko 0 #6 April 28, 2003 I ordered my GTI with the LQRS, but it didn't show up on my suit. No big deal.... I fly a 104 FX at 2.1. Do I wish I had the release? You are damned straight I wished I did.
