blair700 0 #1 May 8, 2003 So I'm headed to a beach to jump, and they (DZ) require floatation to jump onto the beach. I'm sure my sterns fanny pack flotation would fit around my waist UNDER my suit no problem, do ya think the DZO will go fer it?? Anybody with exp. on beach wingsuit jumps, I'd be interested on hearing your feedback. And of course, I will call ahead to be sure, just wondering what y'all have come across. Thanks, Blair PS I KNOW it is NOT RECOMMENDED that you have a water landing in a wingsuit, I don't plan too, but that's what the floatation is for...right? outrager 6 #3 May 8, 2003 Yo ! I've seen Aquaboy thingies on chest straps - it's not much of a flotation but may be sufficient to satisfy a DZO. From a couple of wingsuit water landings i had without any flotation - it's not really that bad, but i see how things may change to worse in the open ocean. bsbd! Yuri. SkymonkeyONE 4 #4 May 8, 2003 Another option with your Sterns unit is to rig it under your rig, attached around the laterals. A smarter option, though, might be to route the waist strap around your upper lift webs above the chest strap. True, it would be out in the air and sort of under your chin in flight, but it would do best there to save you in an actual water ditching. I just thought of that and have not actually tried that routing, but it ought to work fine. Chuck
LouDiamond 1 #5 May 9, 2003 DUDE a horse collar would be the perfect solution for BM water jumps. It would fit under the suit and be more than adequate. Whatcha think ? SkymonkeyONE 4 #6 May 9, 2003 Yes, Scott, a military UDT vest would be perfect. Yes, I have one. No, you can't borrow it. SkyONE
