sinker 0 #1 July 15, 2003 hey y'all... was in the airport reading the lastest popular science (i think that's what it was) and saw a piece on this one-man software guru who makes a kick ass flight sim that rivals microsoft... anyway, it seems that one of the things you can pilot in his program is a wing-suit! I just thought that kicked ass. sorry if this is old news... -the artist formerly known as sinker

LouDiamond 1 #3 July 15, 2003 Looked at the site and it's full of info but I didn't see anywhere that siad you could fly a wingsuit. Although I am assuming one could use the aircraft building model to build a wingsuit version and fly it but it doesn't readily come with the wingsuit in the A/C inventory(as far as i could tell). A very busy and detailed web page. I'm no page expert but they have gone into info overload IMHO."It's just skydiving..additional drama is not required" Some people dream about flying, I live my dream SKYMONKEY PUBLISHING
Kris 0 #4 July 15, 2003 When it comes to realistic flight dynamics, nothing can touch X-Plane, not even MS Flight Sim. I have it so I'll keep a look out for the bird-man.Sky, Muff Bro, Rodriguez Bro, and Bastion of Purity and Innocence!™
sinker 0 #5 July 16, 2003 the article mentioned something about a site where you can download different planes... perhaps the wingsuit is there... sorry, I didn't buy the mag... it's the aug. issue of pop sci... -the artist formerly known as sinker
indyz 1 #6 July 16, 2003 Quotethe article mentioned something about a site where you can download different planes... The X-Plane website lists probably close to a dozen sites that host collections of planes. The sim really is incredible, highly recommended. MS Flight Sim is nothing more than a cheap hack compared to this masterpiece.
sinker 0 #7 July 17, 2003 I'm surprised that no one here has any info on the birdman sim for x-plane. I sort of thought that the creator would have wanted to consult someone like jari and those of you close to him would be in the know... if anyone does come across it, I'd love to hear about it... -the artist formerly known as sinker
LouDiamond 1 #8 July 17, 2003 Me too, whomever has it, download the Birdman model and let us know if it's all that or not. hell, i'd buy the prog just to fly birdman sims when I wasn't in the air LOL"It's just skydiving..additional drama is not required" Some people dream about flying, I live my dream SKYMONKEY PUBLISHING

LouDiamond 1 #11 July 17, 2003 Ok , that is totaly cool, so wh ohere is going to Dl it and test it out?"It's just skydiving..additional drama is not required" Some people dream about flying, I live my dream SKYMONKEY PUBLISHING
cpoxon 0 #12 July 17, 2003 I thought the zip file was corrupt but I think it's a non-Windows format. I was able to uncompress it with WinRAR after removing the .zip extension. The 17.2 Kb file expanded to 3.44 MB! No either that's some pretty impressive compression or a very inefficient file format!

LouDiamond 1 #14 July 17, 2003 I seem to recall that the demo times out after 6 mins and I don't think it allows other models to be added."It's just skydiving..additional drama is not required" Some people dream about flying, I live my dream SKYMONKEY PUBLISHING
