outrager 6 #26 July 22, 2003 Quoteas a follow up to another question (and as a fledgling b-man) what specific muscle groups are you fatiguing? Have you talked to a physical trainer to see specifically what types of exercises may increase endurance for those parts? The most tired are deltas, triceps and some chest muscles. Abdominals get a good exercise too, calfs get tired sometimes from pointing the toes, and there's probably a lot of other muscle groups involved to a lesser degree. I don't train specifically for wingsuits, but between karate and climbing during the last year i can notice some endurance improvements. bsbd! Yuri. ManBird 0 #27 July 22, 2003 Martial arts will do it. I studied for about 12 years and havn't explored much in the past three years. I recently started practicing on my own again, and it's made a huge difference very quickly (past two months). I lost a lot of weight and gained a lot of endurance. Plus, just flying the S3 maxed out as much as I can (about 50 flights in the last five weeks) makes a huge difference, too. And those reverse dumbbells make a world of difference."¯"`-._.-¯) ManBird (¯-._.-´"¯" Click
ManBird 0 #28 July 22, 2003 Quoteyeah...didnt jump last weekend to save cash, but i should get 3-4 more in this week and then i'll be down to play some, since just spent $700 for a reserve depending on loads etc i'll be making mostly b-man jumps, but i know there is talk of some serious hybrid play and i'm all about that too so...There will be seriously hybrid play, indeed. I'm even thinking of disconnecting to dedicate half a day to hanging. I'd like to get in some tracking dives, as well. I'd really like to try taking my WS on a normal tracking dive and flying really dirty, and inversely, fly my freefly suit with someone flying dirty in their WS."¯"`-._.-¯) ManBird (¯-._.-´"¯" Click
Zenister 0 #29 July 22, 2003 its certainly not hard to get me to go track... although as dirty as you were flying just to come down to me in the GTI i imagine you in a boxman-wingsuit during a tracking dive... although i was only getting tracking dive fall rates then too... i little better now...____________________________________ Those who fail to learn from the past are simply Doomed. PhreeZone 20 #31 July 22, 2003 I tried flying with a few trackers last week and dirty does'nt describe how you have to be to fall like they do. It was so gratifing to punch it all out and leave them in the dust though Yesterday is history And tomorrow is a mystery Parachutemanuals.com
ManBird 0 #32 July 22, 2003 Yeah, I figured "dirty" as in "completely collapsed wings". That's what I really want to experience. Being part of the dive and then lifting away from it."¯"`-._.-¯) ManBird (¯-._.-´"¯" Click
SkymonkeyONE 4 #33 July 22, 2003 I, along with Bobby Pritchard, have done exactly that on several occasion. We exited last, dove down to the lead tracker with our hands behind our backs just flying with our elbows out, very arched. It was not a problem at all. At their break-off altitude, we simply rocketed up, up , and away.
