SKYPEDESTRIAN 0 #1 July 24, 2003 Can anyone make recommendation as to: 1. What device I should buy to collect my freefall time and other stats once I get the BM suit I have on order; and 2. Where I should mount it for most accurate reading: hand, helmet, crack of my ass, etc. Thanks. skypedestrian@earthlink.net
TB99 0 #2 July 24, 2003 Neptune, if you can get a hold of one! If not, ProTrack ... I put mine in my shoe (between my laces and the tongue). Your ankle or foot are the best places for most accurate readings. Trailer 11/12 was the best. Thanks for the memories ... you guys rocked!
Rdutch 0 #3 July 24, 2003 I heard that if you fly a pro-trac your skill wont improve, its really hard to get more than 119 seconds of freefall while flying it. I think it has something to do with the weight and placement of the protrac, with the gravitational pull while wearing it. (Inside Joke) They were jumping Neptune's today, seems like the release is close, minor tweaks ect. I cant wait. Ray Small and fast what every girl dreams of! ManBird 0 #4 July 24, 2003 I recommend the ProTrack, as I haven't used or seen the Neptune and Niels Brusgaard is great guy and innovator worth supporting. Just try to score one that records up to 30 minutes. I get the cleanest charts (using JumpTrack software) by putting the ProTrack in my front pants pocket. It's always hit with clean, consistent air (except in barrel rolls or loops), and doesn't fluctuate the speed with movement. On extremities (hands, feet, head), turns or looking around will throw the charts way off. Still looking into GPS, and I don't have any recommendations there."¯"`-._.-¯) ManBird (¯-._.-´"¯" Click

TB99 0 #7 July 24, 2003 Once again, I wrote them and asked if there was one out already or even if they were coming out with one so I wouldn't have to buy a Neptune, and this is the response I got. QuoteYes, we do make a special version of the Pro-Track which records data up to 30 minutes. This unit was made for military purposes and canopy manufacturers. I am sorry that the present Pro-Track does not record for more than 120 sec. Best regards, Mads Larsen So, it doesn't even sound like they're coming out with one any time soon either.
