Deuce 1 #1 September 22, 2003 I know several of you are jumping sidemounts, but is anybody jumping a Birdsuit with a still camera? I intend to. I'm just wondering what the issues are. I didn't want to hijack Ray's thread about enlisting more bird talent into the stable. My experience with openings has been that they're a lot like CRW openings. My Spectre's have been predictable. I'm still looking for a video camera that will do TTL still capture while it's videoing. There's no reason technically it's not doable, and would save an awful lot of weight and size. Rdutch 0 #3 September 23, 2003 The main issue I have with wearing a camera while jumping a bm suit, is the swing you get on opening. If for some reason, you get a good swing and a line twist things could be nasty. Ive already been it in the face with risers on a tracking dive, it made me think about what if I had my camera on. I talked to Norman Kent about this, he is a big bm fan, but he also gave me a few things to think about. But that is just me, I am not saying it is a bad thing to do, it is just something that scares me. Ray Small and fast what every girl dreams of! Deuce 1 #5 September 23, 2003 That's just it, Scott, I've jumped with you with your RAWA on, and it didn't seem to cause much trouble for you. I also have Respect for the high-timers who are being cautious about headgear and BM suits. I appreciate the dangers and I will fly the big helmet on BM flights. I just want feedback about the dangers. I'd also like that knowledge to be shared in the forum. Thanks. diablopilot 2 #6 September 23, 2003 QuoteI know several of you are jumping sidemounts, but is anybody jumping a Birdsuit with a still camera? Yes. You know what my helmet looks like. Here's the thing though Deuce. Please go make 30 jumps on the suit first. Then add the helmet to the mix. You really need to know what to expect. I've had no trouble with my setup, but I had 40-50 jumps with the suit prior to ever filming anything in it.---------------------------------------------- You're not as good as you think you are. Seriously.

blair700 0 #8 September 23, 2003 I've only worn my still on a flattop pro for wingsuits, but usually just fly a vid on a side mount. Out of the 46 flights I've made, I have only 5 with the still setup, and the only problem is that meganon-aerodynamic block on my head slows my fat arse down even more I believe you are an accomplished camera flyer right? Once you master the wingsuit I doubt you'd have much trouble combining the two. Later Blair
