ManBird 0 #1 October 7, 2003 Your ProTrack will only chart 119 seconds of your freefall, but that doesn't mean it doesn't continue to record other information. To get a fairly accurate estimate of your total freefall time without having to rush out and buy a Neptune, use this formula: (e - d)/(f * 1.47) = s e = exit altitude d = deployment altitude f = fall rate in MPH (TAS only -- NOT SAS) s = seconds in freefall Even if you're off by seconds here and there, you can at least use this to gauge progress in your freefall time. lazyfrog 0 #2 October 7, 2003 thanks... a friend got 119 seconds exiting at 6000 meters... no need to say he was really angry, and everybody called him anvil-man---------- Fumer tue, péter pue ------------- ourson #10, Mosquito Uno, CBT
SkymonkeyONE 4 #3 October 7, 2003 I have never been a ProTrac fan at all anyways. They are nearly worthless in wingsuit applications in my opinion. If you really need to know your exact freefall times simply use your video or the stopwatch function on a watch or something. Chuck
ManBird 0 #4 October 7, 2003 It's a whole different story when you're using JumpTrack with the ProTrack. :)"¯"`-._.-¯) ManBird (¯-._.-´"¯" Click
obi 0 #5 October 10, 2003 Distance is all that really matters anyhow. Obi
SkymonkeyONE 4 #6 October 10, 2003 Actually, distance is all that matters to you and those of you who feel that way. I love travelling very long distances in my S3, but at the same dive derive my greatest pleasure from technical flocking, something that BASE guys don't do a lot of. While I agree that "hang time" is not the most important thing, if it were not important to a niche then there would not be a "minute man" listing on the BirdMan site for BASE flilghts. ypelchat 0 #7 October 10, 2003 Do you know if L & B plan to release a corrected version of the Pro-Track, that will fix this problem? Yves.
obi 0 #8 October 11, 2003 You're right, everybody has the right to be interested in whatever he wants to. A note to the minute-men-list: I think it is absolutely not up to date.
ManBird 0 #9 October 11, 2003 It is pretty dang neglected. We need to populate that soon."¯"`-._.-¯) ManBird (¯-._.-´"¯" Click
