Supergeil 0 #1 November 30, 2003 How many jumps total/ws does it demand to become a BMI? How long does it take and what are you going to learn on the course? Supergeil
LouDiamond 1 #2 December 1, 2003 QuoteHow long does it take and what are you going to learn on the course? The newly revamped BMI course is 2 days long. Day one is all "classroom" and consists of the ground training and what the evaluation will focus on. Day two is a graded Practical Exercise (PE)in giving the First Flight Course (FFC) to a "student" (a fellow BMI candidate) followed by an in air skills evaluation. Your in air skills are evaluated by one of the BMCIs running the course, who in turn acts as your student for that jump. The information you will learn will enable you to effectively give a proper ground training portion to a student and to note and make corrective actions both in the air and on the ground after the flight to your student. Additional information covered will enable the BMI candidate to better handle commonly seen mistakes to dealing with advanced flocking, safety issues, flight planning and further methods of instruction that ensure you're providing the student with the absolute best training they can possibly receive. Prior teaching experience is recommended as it plays a major role as is ones ability to fly in close proximity to ones student. All graded portions are a pass/fail event and must be successfully passed in order to be awarded a BMI rating. There are additional benefits one is eligible for once the course is completed."It's just skydiving..additional drama is not required" Some people dream about flying, I live my dream SKYMONKEY PUBLISHING
Supergeil 0 #3 December 1, 2003 Thanks! The course sounds nice a lot like the AFF i think. I live in Eroupe will there be some courses there next year? What about the total number of jumps isn't there a demand? Supergeil

SkymonkeyONE 4 #5 December 1, 2003 We need a minimum of three BM-I candidates at one location in order to run a BM-I course. Not a big deal at all really.
