leoholanda 0 #1 December 12, 2003 I noticed that classic I have been discontinued. Why? What are the main differences from each other? I'm having a chance to buy an used Classic I for an excellent price. Is that waste of money? Should I make a little more effort and pay much more on a classic II or the differences are not so big? Note: I have never flyed any winged-suit. There are no other wing-suit flyers in my dropzone.
gus 1 #2 December 12, 2003 I think the Classic II has 2 zips up the front rather than 1 but I don't think there are any major differences. Buy that suit! GusOutpatientsOnline.com
TB99 0 #3 December 12, 2003 Besides the 2 zippers, the material is different. Everything else is identical as far as the wings and such. The wings are exactly the same size and profile. If you can get an excellent deal on a Classic I, I'd say go for it for sure!!! Trailer 11/12 was the best. Thanks for the memories ... you guys rocked! LouDiamond 1 #5 December 12, 2003 The major differences in the Classic and the Classic II are the changes in matrerial use on both the body and on some suits , the wing material. The Classic has only one main zipper down the front and the leg zippers only come up to about the calf. Another design issues that was tweaked on the Classic is the bootie construction. Classic booties are constructed out of a thick plastic material and are very wide which caused them to slip off sometimes if the suit did not fit properly. The type of zippers used was also changed on the Classic to a more durable and dependable one. As for wing span and shape, the two suits are the same. The biggest notable change was in the way the suit was laced onto the rig. The old Classics have a different sized and shaped hole for the leg strap(s) and horizontal backstrap, it's more oval than square and quite large. When lacing the rig up it tends to not "look" right until you get used to what you are looking at. Once on the jumper the opening is still quite large in comparrison to the Classic II. It is hard to get into a Classic once it is all rigged up, the Classic II is a lot easier to put on since it has two body zippers and the leg zippers come up to mid thigh. Either suit is fantastic to learn on especially if you are getting a good deal on it. You can always move up to another suit and keep the classic for a friend. IMO, you can never have too many wingsuits"It's just skydiving..additional drama is not required" Some people dream about flying, I live my dream SKYMONKEY PUBLISHING
