Rdutch 0 #1 February 24, 2004 This week, a jumper was doing a 2 way from the skyvan, and didnt launch himself back far enough, the result was a faceplant into the floor of the plane. He broke a lot of his front teeth and punctured his top lip. Last I heard he was scheduled for plastic surgery and a dentist. From the video it is hard to tell if it was his lower wing open and caught air and flung him, or just a weak exit that made him fall face first. I just thought I would bring it to people's attention that something like this could happen so be careful. Ray Small and fast what every girl dreams of! VectorBoy 0 #2 February 25, 2004 Ouch! I heard of this happening to an equiptment loaded military FF SOG jumper practicing out of Perris's van. The Pilot felt the impact. But your description is even more horrific!

The111 1 #4 February 25, 2004 It was his first BM, right? I'll probably do mine in a month at Seb from a Van as well, I will have this in mind and probably jump back so far I hit the back of my helmet on the door. That is infinitely more attractive than hitting my teeth on the floor. I actually learned sitfly exits out of the Van years ago and would jump so far out that the top of my ProTec tapped the door for the first 5 times or so until I learned to jump a little less. www.WingsuitPhotos.com
Rdutch 0 #5 February 25, 2004 No he was a very experienced Bm jumper. It was just a bad exit, I heard from his gf today, she said he is in good spirits but has a lot of stitches. Ray Small and fast what every girl dreams of!
piisfish 140 #6 February 25, 2004 maybe a BMI will explain you an optimal exit from the skyvan.. OMG I want to jump from that box with wings.scissors beat paper, paper beat rock, rock beat wingsuit - KarlM

SCARYPERRY 0 #9 February 25, 2004 to set the facts straight, it was 2 way/3way.I was shooting video. From STILL pics and revue of video, after 12 minutes of jump run, I was feeling a bit hypoxic, exit appeared to be weak, nothing more.As we know extended jump runs at altitude can cause judgement impairment,His legs where bent, wings collapsed,so the thought of exiting a skyvan and haveing leg wing flip you face down onto tailgate is near impossable.ever feel the dead air in the burble of aircraft at exit? What needs to be added,to sustaine that degree of injury, fly stable for 12 seconds, remember you cant touch your face with suit on,then WAVE OFF to let others know he was going to dump, waiting another 5 seconds to let us clear airspace ,then pulled stable!!!we had no clue he was injured till he prepared to land. He has over 200 wingsuit jumps and is strong stable flyer.I call it like I saw it PerryOnly he can be happy, who can make his the present hour, for today he has lived
VectorBoy 0 #10 February 26, 2004 QuoteWhat about SOG? Haven't heard that in while. Happened a few years ago at Perris. The Pilot that felt the impact told me the story. Military jump practice out of tailgate. If they told us more they would have to kill us.
