Your profile indicates that you have under 200 jumps, so your "need invigorating" and "been watching for years" phrase have me wondering how long they have been spread out over. 500 jumps minimum or 200 VERY current jumps (in the past year) are what we require.

Well here's a view from a newbie. I just made my first jump with Check (SM1) at the Mardi Gras Boogie. I have 525 jumps, about 250 in the last year and been in the sport for 3 years. You want to have the experience, there is A LOT to think about when up in the air and the more you jump, fly your canopy, get airtime, the better off you are in the air and better prepared for anything that may happen. The more current and the more jumps you have, the more body aware you are as to your opening position, position in flight and so on. Make it up to Wamego sometime and talk with Tony, Thor or Jill who all have many more jumps than I do. I see you jump at Air Capital, keep in mind there was an incident there almost 3 years ago with someone flying a wing-suit and could have been prevented with more training, currency and some common sense. He had the 15 jumps less than you...

If you're bored skydiving come to Wamego or go to Kingman and we'll challange you, maybe you just need to jump with some different people to open your eyes.

feel free to drop me a pm and also to crash at my house anytime you feel like coming up here

You somewhat explain the need for a lot of jumps in your post. How come you need a lot of experience to jump wingsuits?
(BTW, Birdman is just a bran of wingsuits right? What are other brands?)
I understand that in a emergency your arms and legs have limited range, and the forward speed is something to learn to deal with. Are those the main concerns? Why else is so many jumps required?

And say for instance that someone was solely focused on learning to jump a suit, could you mentor him through training skydives so that he doesnt need to do 500 before he straps on a suit?

it's 500 jumps or 200 jumps in the last 12 months.

Currency and comfort in the air are key. A wingsuit is a busy skydive and there are several ways you can get yourself in trouble. Honestly, I don't think anyone under at least 100 jumps is mentally switched on enough during a skydive to add that much into the mix.

Any BMI's wanna' add anything to that?

Not a BMI but agree with Kris, there is a lot of stuff going on, body awareness, location in teh sky, limited movement etc. There is just a lot to think about. I like the 200/500 rule. I could never imagine myself putting on a suit myself with 200 jumps. I still have so much to learn, I often look back and remember me with 60 jumps going to make my first night jump and someone making a joke saying "hey wanna wear my camera?" I said "SURE!" not knowing the different in anything. It's more knowledge than anything else

I won't beat a dead horse here and Kris pointed out some very good points. I suggest you check out the FAQs on the Birdman web page as it can answer a lot of questions as well.

I too, find it hard to believe that one would need reinvigorating at 275 jumps. There is just way too much to do and master in this sport to be bored at that point.
