piisfish 140 #5 May 5, 2004 QuoteDoesn't look very stable to me? that is just after inflating the wings in the relative wind... you can see that kind of pic in Soul Flyers too when Loic exits the Otter... he has around 3m wingspan... which gives SOME pressure when you exit a plane sideways...scissors beat paper, paper beat rock, rock beat wingsuit - KarlM
ManBird 0 #6 May 5, 2004 Yeah, just poking fun (though that is sort of an "oh shit" body position). I think it's kind of a cool concept, but I've got about 72 reasons not to endorse the use of rigid wings. Plus, I like the idea of shaping your wings yourself a lot more."¯"`-._.-¯) ManBird (¯-._.-´"¯" Click
piisfish 140 #7 May 5, 2004 I also prefer the more "traditionnal" wingsuit... He has a spring loaded PC, and can release the wing. 2 weeks ago he did his 1st jump on the new wing... Totally rigid, the extensions are put in place by gas loaded springs, with 4m wingspan... really impressive to see the wings, and the video.scissors beat paper, paper beat rock, rock beat wingsuit - KarlM
ManBird 0 #8 May 5, 2004 I wonder what was used to film him in those videos. The first couple shots are obviously just freefall, but the two clips at the end are following pretty closely."¯"`-._.-¯) ManBird (¯-._.-´"¯" Click
piisfish 140 #9 May 6, 2004 would'nt want to give some wrong information cause I can't see the videos on this computer... but I know the plane can follow himscissors beat paper, paper beat rock, rock beat wingsuit - KarlM
