dragon2 2 #1 June 1, 2004 This weekend JohanW and I did a BM rodeo dive again, me being the rider, which went fine although the exit could've gone better. This was our 2nd time, first one went fine too. This is our first one on video tho One time tho we switched places, him being the rider. After exit we started spinning fairly fast to the left. I think this was because he tried to get his feet together and in doing so was keeping my legs together, making it impossible for me to fly very well. We then tucked everything in, tried again, and started spinning to the right Then we gave up.... BTW I jump a ClassicII, Johan a GTi. Most often when I hear about rodeo dives it is a (heavier) guy BM with a (lighter) girl rider. Anybody done it the other way round? A heaver/taller rider? Did it work? Can it work? ciel bleu, Saskia
Conundrum 1 #2 June 1, 2004 Sweet, I did my first Wingsuit rodeo on Sunday, as the rider. It was so much fun and I look forward to doing it again and eventually flying my own birdman suit! Cool pics too!
VanillaSkyGirl 6 #3 June 2, 2004 QuoteSweet, I did my first Wingsuit rodeo on Sunday, as the rider. Actually, it was a dual wingsuit rodeo...and we had so much fun chasing you two. When asked why he turned into us, Glen claimed that you were accidentally creating a slight turn. Sure she was, Glen... Anyway, it was a fun ride. Jake and I had a perfect exit and ride, and we regret that it was not filmed. Btw, I have borrowed a wingsuit that actually sort-of fits me...
 VectorBoy 0 #4 June 2, 2004 I need to thank you two ladies for the very memorable jump, my surprise that it actually worked without having the chance to dirt dive it properly. The turns were standard pattern and not induced by my rider Chelle( other smaller turns were, no worries! ) Shame on Jake and myself for not getting video. Or for getting grips even though our fingers were within inches for a long minute. That was, in a nutshell, a VERY COOL skydive! Thank you all and I would love to try it again, anytime.
 VanillaSkyGirl 6 #5 June 2, 2004 I was shocked at how smooth it went, as well. I loved it, so we should do it, again & get video/pics next time. I can do a wingsuit rodeo on you any time that you ask. Maybe in a couple of weekends when I go back to Perris for my 200th. This coming weekend, I will be at Elsinore for Bridge the Gap. Sorry about the turns, I wasnt sure what to expect so I think I was trying to situate myself on you... Plus I forgot to close my visor so I had to do that once we were stable. Thanks for the jump and I'd gladly be a rider anytime! Whenever you need one, feel free to ask me, I usually don't have anything specific goin on at the dz when Im there so just let me know! AND, WE MATCH!! Black and purple baby! You rock!
 LouDiamond 1 #7 June 2, 2004 QuoteAfter exit we started spinning fairly fast to the left. 9 out of 10 times the cause for either a turn or spin is due to rider error in their placement on the Bird. All it takes is for a one or more wings to be restricted or deformed by the rider to make the flight more difficult for the Bird. On the larger suits(SF3) where there is more wing involved it is very noticable when the rider is not in the right place. Correct rider position looks like THIS QuoteMost often when I hear about rodeo dives it is a (heavier) guy BM with a (lighter) girl rider. Anybody done it the other way round? A heaver/taller rider? Did it work? Can it work? Yes, it can work. A heavier rider usually menas a faster (vertical) fall rate and the Bird has to fly harder to maintain good flight."It's just skydiving..additional drama is not required" Some people dream about flying, I live my dream SKYMONKEY PUBLISHING
 VanillaSkyGirl 6 #8 June 3, 2004 Once again, Jake and I had a perfect ride. Btw, nice pics, Dragon2! Thanks so much for sharing them! I'm so excited...I am going to be doing my first wingsuit flight very, very soon. I was told that I could have done it already, but I wanted to wait to do it on non-boogie weekend & until I have over 200 jumps. Although people do say color is coming back to my skin. Its bad to be trapped on the DZ due to police sobriety blockades, nothing to do but drink,,,,, lots. We will do Xtreme rodeo ( promiss ) but video is mandatory. Just gotta get us both and a fast fall'n vidiot on the DZ at the same time. Maybe the next .com boogie. I like fast as much as you do.... and I'm not skeared a no girl!
 Join the conversation You can post now and register later.
