FIREFLYR 0 #1 June 2, 2004 I want to learn to fly a birdman suit and saw a classic for sale. Is this an appropriate suit to learn in? What do you think of the classic suit? Thanks! ~J"One flew East, and one flew West..............one flew over the cuckoo's nest" "There's absolutely no excuse for the way I'm about to act"
ManBird 0 #2 June 2, 2004 Yes. This is probably the easiest suit to learn on. It's also probably the most underrated suit. It has tons of range when flown properly. Edited to add: Definitely get instruction from a BM-I. You'll be glad you did, and at 200 skydives, you sort of need to."¯"`-._.-¯) ManBird (¯-._.-´"¯" Click
LouDiamond 1 #3 June 2, 2004 QuoteIs this an appropriate suit to learn in? It is the best suit to learn in as it is very stable and forgiving of pilot error. It is also a excellent suit to fly even after you have many flights. A good pilot can absolutely kill it in a Classic and hang with S3s no problem. Just be sure you receive proper instruction before you leran what it's like to really fly"It's just skydiving..additional drama is not required" Some people dream about flying, I live my dream SKYMONKEY PUBLISHING
FIREFLYR 0 #4 June 3, 2004 sounds good so far..."One flew East, and one flew West..............one flew over the cuckoo's nest" "There's absolutely no excuse for the way I'm about to act"
VectorBoy 0 #5 June 3, 2004 There should be some spare classics up in your area and at least a couple of BMI's. OR if you ever find your way down Perris way Diablopilot has the Demo Matter2 suits in various sizes. We added about 16 new flockers between the two us this past weekend to the new wing revolution. Not one of them said it sucked, all of them found the suit very stable in flight and deployment. One new flocker even holds a new Perris record for distance covered. If you need contact him for sizes available and either he or myself can help you out.
kansasskydiver 0 #6 June 3, 2004 I learned and am still flying a Classic 2. Great suit, you'll enjoy it and it'll keep you entertained for awhile.<--- See look, pink dolphins DO exist!

VectorBoy 0 #8 June 3, 2004 QuoteQuoteOne new flocker even holds a new Perris record for distance covered. A brand new flier? That's pretty impressive. How far? Yes first flight. Nice exit, Nice body position, and smooth brisk flight. And a nice opening and landing about 3 miles north east of the DZ. If there would have been time for a second jump I'm positive that we could have perfected the flight patterns. But seriously the matter2 is a very easy suit to fly. People with very little or no experience excell in it. Ask those that have tested it what they think.
ManBird 0 #9 June 3, 2004 I don't know, man. That's what Rex got on his first GTi flight this last weekend. I'll have to try one next time I'm down there (or you're up here)."¯"`-._.-¯) ManBird (¯-._.-´"¯" Click
Tonto 1 #10 June 4, 2004 I love my Classic! I have maybe 50 wingsuit dives now, and have a GTi on call and have ordered an S3. I thought about selling the Classic for maybe 30 seconds, and then figured I'll keep it! I still love flying it. tIt's the year of the Pig.
Courteney 0 #11 June 7, 2004 Man I'm dying to try one out. No one here in Swakop has one! Want to test fly one first before buying one. Say, how tall are you? hehe....drags me down like some sweet gravity!!!
