Deuce 1 #1 August 20, 2004 I'm sure lots of you are tired of hearing me yammer on about how cool exiting the Herc is in a wingsuit. Too bad. People, the next Herc Boogie is in two years, and I will be at least 30 pounds lighter and hundreds of wingsuit flights more experienced so I can attempt some of the stuff I've seen. I was looking though some of my pictures to put in another wingsuit thread and I just remembered what it was like to exit that beast and to watch people exit it and disappear out of site up and over the TAIL! It really should be a destination for any hardcore wingsuit flyer. In this picture, Jari and company are preparing to dismount the ramp and drop into the dead air that extends about 12 feet down before the superterminal blast hits you. Check out the flier who is about a hundred yards back of the ramp, but climbing vertically up the slipstream. Maybe some of the Dutch Guys can tell me who the flier is, the suit looks black and white, but exiting a plane and then climbing the hill so that you can see the freaking cockpit windows is a goal for any suit flier. It is badass. Next time registration opens, register and come over. It was not only fun, it was groundbreaking. Scaryfreakycool.

Deuce 1 #5 August 22, 2004 Did you not see my "Deuce's European Vacation" thread? You come suit with us and either before or after you spent a week or two in Paris or London, or Milan while you are over there. Heck, renting a Saab convertible and just driving around Scandinavia is a great vacation! The week of the boogie, just spare her the smelly, foul company of camera fliers! Dude! I pulled it off and it was stellar!
maretus 0 #6 August 22, 2004 As Manbird said, that looks like Sensei Vesa from Finland climbing up the slipstream of the Herc. Watching him do that shit off AN-26 last year in Swedish Friflaj festival was fuckin' amazing. You can reach Vesa through dz.com for example, he posts here by the name vesatoro.http://www.ufufreefly.com
mccordia 74 #7 August 22, 2004 There is some great video of Vesa exiting the Herc, filmed from the jetfighter that was flying a few meters to the side (and YESS...THAT"S THE COOL STUFF THAT WAS HAPPENING THERE...FREAKIN' JETFIGHTERS ALONGSIDE THE HERC!!!) Vesa typicly exited last, flew out way above the herc, then did a slow turn back down, and then a 180 mph dive to catch the rest of the formation, and usualy arived there before half of the wingsuiters... But there where soo many great people doing incredible flying there...when you see the combination of everyones incredible videos (it'll be online as soon as it's finished..working hard) you'll definately freak out :)JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete? vesatoro 0 #15 August 23, 2004 Inte ännu. Vi försöker att gora den finska rekord i funflying-boogie som hålls här i Åbo inom two veckan. Då ska vi se hur kan de finska fåglarna flyga... "Fear is the path to the Dark side" (Master Yoda)
mccordia 74 #16 August 23, 2004 Great...now you guys cost me 20 minutes of time, trying to find an online-translator for that funny language of yours :)JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
vesatoro 0 #17 August 23, 2004 Jarno, it's not a funny language of us, it's the funny language of those Swedes. There's nothing funny about Finnish and I doubt there is an online-translator for it Vesa "Fear is the path to the Dark side" (Master Yoda)

There's nothing funny about Finnish and I doubt there is an online-translator for it. Personally I think there is nothing funny about swedish and we still have to learn that in school... Damn those swedes. But Vesa, you shouldn't have a doubt about it on how we are going to fly in FunFlying boogie, we will kick ass of course. You should know that. :)http://www.ufufreefly.com

skyflyingbecca 0 #20 August 27, 2004 WARNING! Ignorant question from a newbie is to follow: Quoteuntill Herc. 2006 when we will .... Is this boogie only every two years? I have been drooling over all the cool pics & vids of the hercules boogie and finally ordered my first wingsuit, and now I have to wait two years? "I know it's friday night, but come on. vesatoro 0 #23 August 30, 2004 Even those people at GFK are truly unbelievably efficient in organizing such a big boogie with only voluntary work, it would be too much for them to do every year. Hey, they also need to have the time to jump sometimes... Vesa "Fear is the path to the Dark side" (Master Yoda)
