Big cheap wingsuit safe rigs

Recommended Posts

I'd like to make a number of wingsuit jumps using a TSO'd rig sized for a 245 square foot F111 seven cell with dacron lines, square reserve, available spares (freebag/handles/etc) and don't want to spend a lot of money.

Good or bad, including published modifications to add tuck-tab riser covers:

Racer Elite?
Vector 2?
Talon?
Centarus?
Old javelin?

Other possibilities?

I'd definately jump a Reflex. I used to have an EOS, and although I liked the design getting spares from Paraflite 9 years ago was painful.

Wingsuit, hell I'd freefly anyone of those rigs. Seriously they would all work. You don't have to have the long bridle or cut corners. Those are nice but not everybody uses them, they are smart recommendations.

My first rig was a Talon - it had a spectre 210 and a rascal 202 7 cell reserve. I recently brought it up to date and now use it as my wingsuit rig. I have a crossfire 169 in it now, and can't imagine having any problem getting spare reserve parts from the manufacturer, seeing as they're still in business. But, I haven't needed any in years.

There are lots of these talons still around, I see them pretty cheap here in the classiffieds all the time. They seem to have have held up pretty well compared the other rigs their age, and I personally recommend them.

I don't have the tuck-tab riser mod, but I have the super-duty construction grade velcro and it works like a friggin' dream. Never had a problem, even freeflying.
