JaapSuter 0 #1 November 29, 2004 Hey, everybody is probably more interested in Vampire info right now, but oh well... I tried searching for some Phoenix posts with flight experiences, but couldn't find much. Please link if you can find something. I received my Phoenix pants and jacket last Friday. Took it for 4 jumps today, all solo tracking dives. Only had a timer on my fourth jump (around my ankle, as somebody suggested) and got 71 seconds from 13k to 3k. Maximum speed was 94mph and slowest in freefall was 86mph I think (can't remember exactly). I don't believe that's very good, but I'll have to practice more. It definitely took me a while to find the sweet spot and stop being wobbly. The third jump was the first one where I was in a consistent forward motion. Still I wasn't going too much faster than in a normal jumpsuit track though. The fourth jump felt the longest and the most stable, but I have many jumps ahead of me before I can really use the pants' potential. A couple of questions: 1. How much space between the legs? 2. Shoulders turned inward? 3. How much space between the arms and hips? 4. Do you bend/de-arch at the hips? 5. Where do you look? Down or forward? 6. Toes extended, or pointing sideways? 7. Jacket tucked into your pants, or over it? 8. Crotch low and baggy, or crotch high? Thanks, Jaap Suter
KrisFlyZ 0 #2 November 29, 2004 I think it has to do with technique. Manbird got over 100 secs with the combo. Give it a few more jumps, you will improve. Read this thread in the BASE forum. Good Luck and long flights, Kris.
