The111 1 #1 January 7, 2005 It's funny, in my GTi I could barely grab the mudflaps on deployment but it seemed to make me more prone to twists when I did so I just let my hands hover. In my S3 I can actually get my RISERS half the time (which I didn't think was possible) and my openings are great when I grab flaps or risers. Risers are the ultimate bonus because any twists that are forming (docile canopy, keep in mind) are gone before full inflation.www.WingsuitPhotos.com
SkymonkeyONE 4 #2 January 7, 2005 In my S3 I can reach well into the "V" of the risers if I scrunch my shoulders up and my neck down. Chuck
TALONSKY 0 #3 January 7, 2005 If I tighten my leg straps tight I can reach the V of the risers also, however; I find that leaving my leg straps a little loss helps me be able to roll my shoulders better (which puts me able to touch my mud flaps). DaMan 0 #4 January 7, 2005 I could reach in my GTi, but I usually wear my rig tight - my S3 allows me to dearch more (rig less tight) and still reach... ph8068 0 #5 January 7, 2005 I can easily reach my risers in my GTi. There are advantages in buying a 2nd hand rig which doesn't quite fit you properly
JeNnEjEnN 0 #6 January 7, 2005 I can reach just to the 3 rings in my GTI... Which isn't that great when you instinctively grab for your risers before/during opening. It tends to cut my knuckles if they get smacked between my helmet & the rings... ouch. ------------------------------------------- "Scars remind you that the past is real..." KrisFlyZ 0 #7 January 7, 2005 I can reach just above the 3 rings when flying the S3. I saw(on video) Sam(whatever) do something innovative to get out of line twists. He just unzipped his wings and yanked on a riser. The canopy untwisted readily. No kicking required. Kris.

I've used that a couple of times - trick is to use one riser as a lever against the other to start untwisting in the correct direction...get the direction wrong and you've just pinned your arm in the risers (and will likely break it if you cut away)!Z-Flock 8 Discotec Rodriguez Too bad weapons grade stupidity doesn't lead to sterility. LouDiamond 1 #9 January 7, 2005 I can reach my risers in the GTi and the S3. In the Classic I can get slightly above the 3 rings but some creative hunching is involved."It's just skydiving..additional drama is not required" Some people dream about flying, I live my dream SKYMONKEY PUBLISHING
Courteney 0 #10 January 8, 2005 I was super stoked when on my first jump in my GTi I could grab my risers. I had read it was not really possible due to wings attached. I grab them on every jump...or dump. ...drags me down like some sweet gravity!!!

Risers are the ultimate bonus because any twists that are forming (docile canopy, keep in mind) are gone before full inflation. I can't reach the risers, only the rings and a bit above sometimes. I don't think that reaching risers is ultimate bonus, just a little one . I jump Sabre 150. If I see any line twists forming during inflation, I can get rid of it using harness input only. Ultimate bonus would be reaching toggles (when for some reason one of the toggles gets loose).
