kansasskydiver 0 #1 January 10, 2005 Just curious how well I'm flying my classic. I'm 270lbs out the door and flying a ClassicII Exit altitude 10k deployment 3200ft. Avg speed 56mph Used a protrac to log Is this average, below or above for a classic and my size?<--- See look, pink dolphins DO exist!

VectorBoy 0 #4 January 10, 2005 If you can not just average but get close numbers on both half of the jumps. Then get similarly close numbers on a series of jumps on the same day ( all three ) sets of numbers then you would be doing excellent my friend. Max speed was 90mph based off the data of the protrac that was around the deployment time when i shut everything down and dropped my knees. Total time was 89 seconds from 10k. I didn't cover as much distance as I would have liked though...<--- See look, pink dolphins DO exist!
VectorBoy 0 #6 January 10, 2005 The protrac gives averages for both halves and an overall average. Continuity of readings between these numbers and across several jumps adds validity to them. But to answer your question those are excellent numbers for someone of your build. Consistent low fifties are very good average numbers for a classic flown by an average skydiver. Better athletes and better bodys can get better number just like amazing flyers pushing the envelope of this sport but for the rest of us average joes, thats a fine glide.
