larsrulz 0 #1 January 27, 2005 Hopefully doing a FFC at Skydive Chicago in April. I have a feeling that I'll really like it and try to get as many WS jumps as possible this summer. That said, I was wondering what ground workout you WSers would recommend in the 3 months leading up. I'm in the process of training for a marathon, so I now have more time set aside for working out. So what type of lifting do you all recommend? I got a strong urge to fly, but I got no where to fly to. -PF
The111 1 #2 January 27, 2005 click After my first few shaky S3 flights I was certain I was too weak and started doing those isometric shoulder exercises. After 30 more flights I realized I just needed to learn the suit. If you're a reasonably strong guy you shouldn't have any problems, but the workout can't hurt if you have the time. I'm just sticking to my normal workouts for now.www.WingsuitPhotos.com

Off topic : SDC is a great place and I was jumping a wingsuit there for most of last season. Since Todd got injured, not many others jump wingsuits. If you are planning on jumping wingsuits mostly, go elsewhere. Someplace that has regular flockers. Preferably a place with someone experienced to learn from. I have 207 WS jumps since June 2004 and I would have been at the skill level I am at with far fewer jumps if I had an experienced person to jump with/learn from. Kris. larsrulz 0 #5 January 31, 2005 I'm mostly just going to SDC for the FFC, preferably when I am up there for Brian Germain's course and then for the Spring Expo following. I don't know where regular flockers are around here (just south of Rantoul), but somehow I doubt they are within driving distance. I got a strong urge to fly, but I got no where to fly to. -PF

See you at SDC.... The only sure way to survive a canopy collision is not to have one.
