freeflydrew 0 #1 October 8, 2003 I was just curious... The first thing I purchases was a used TimeOut, followed closely by goggles, then altimeter, helmet, rig, and jumppants. What about you?

SkydiveNFlorida 0 #3 October 8, 2003 Well, I had to vote rig since even though I technically first purchased goggles, I still purchase them all the time and lose them, so they don't count. :p My next purchase will be a helmet & audible . ypelchat 0 #4 October 8, 2003 QuoteI was just curious... The first thing I purchases was a used TimeOut, followed closely by goggles, then altimeter, helmet, rig, and jumppants. What about you? The first thing I bought, was my altimeter. Then I bought a helmet, a jumpsuit and a pair of goggles. A few weeks later, at jump 34, i bought my first rig, which drained my bank account quite a bit ! It was my second year as a skydiver, that I bought the bulk of my equipment. During that year, I only did 14 jumps. But on my third year, the sky was mine ! , and it has been ever since. Yves. wmw999 2,545 #6 October 8, 2003 I bought an Altimaster 2 in 1975 and promptly painted a Mickey Mouse face on it. It still works Wendy W.There is nothing more dangerous than breaking a basic safety rule and getting away with it. It removes fear of the consequences and builds false confidence. McDuck 0 #8 October 8, 2003 I actually bought helmets and altimeters for my girlfriend and I both after about our 5th jumps on AFF. It got to be a bit unnerving thinking about wearing someone else's sweat on my head. Hmmm, wondering if I should revise that last sentence a bit... riggermick 7 #17 October 9, 2003 I think the first piece of equipment I purchased was an altimeter, it was 25 years ago. But I do remember my first rig, it was a Guardian Hawk Wedge II, Pioneer 23' Tri Con and a slider modified strato star (it used to be a ropes and rings canopy).Ahhh fun, fun. Mick.
