The best way???

Recommended Posts

I used to have an all white S1. I washed it in a washing machine on gentle, with woolite. It worked, but probably wasn't recommended by the manufacturer. I'd imagine that the recommended cleaning is pretty much the same as for a canopy.

I use a gentle detergent and cold water in a bath tub working the stain very gently.

There is a point were the remnents of some stains are just better left alone. I have some very used suits and abrasions from the rig harness over time and "over scrubbing" in a wash will actualy wear off the ZP coating on the material.

I have a white suit with the faint hint of both grass and blood stains ( none mine). I worked the stains the best I could and left the balance. The stains are faint and hard to see.

I used stain away, but that was with an original classic which seems to be a little different material (read totally different) for the body of the suit. Was careful to only apply it to the stained portion and remove the excess to protect the wing fabric. Then on light cycle with cold water, hang dry.

No more stain.

methylated spirits - not sure if its called that elsewhere...(white spirits?) takes grass stains off most fabrics - I don't know how it would affect a coated fabric though. I usually use a disposable wipe to apply it - and a gentle wash with soap afterwards.

The best way, of course, is not to get grass stains on the suit in the 1st place... which brings me to..

Do you really have 94 jumps, of which 3 are wingsuit jumps?
Are you using your Nitro 120 loaded to 1.36 as a wingsuit canopy?

Actually, you're not going very slow at all.

What if the suggestion was to get a less aggressive canopy?

Matt-

Where did you get coaching for your first W/S flight? Not from any BMI or PFI that I know of.

Dude, relax... wingsuit and base will be there when you have the experience. By rushing into things you're not showing that you listen... which is not something coaches/instructors/mentors find advantageous for teaching.

Baxter.

I am going to try the triatholon and see how the openings compare but i have had nothing but great openings out of the nitro w/s or not. I understand with the w/s bigger is better. but unless alot changes i plan to keep jumping the nitro because it opens much better than the tri

You might be asking alot of questions, but you are not going slow at all. There are times when you have to step back and look at yourself. If everyone is saying the same thing and you disagree... Maybe it is time to look deep inside and be true to yourself.

There are reasons for thing things people are mentioning here. They are not being mean at all.. We are just one big skydiving family and we do not want to lose anyone.

You really ought to sit and chat with Baxter. He's local to you, and he's got all the experience (wingsuit and BASE) that you are pursuing yourself.

There's plenty of time to go slow and be cautious. I say that as I feel the titanium twinging in my lower back, so take it seriously.

Actually, with the WS, having a stable square canopy is more important than the size. I commented on the aggressiveness of your canopy (size AND planform) because of your overall experience more than the fact that you're jumping wingsuit. I'm also still curious why you're jumping the wingsuit now after saying just a few weeks ago in this same forum that you'd wait until you had the recommended experience.

Whatever the case, stay safe and be careful.
