LouDiamond 1 #1 July 24, 2005 As far as we can tell, today our new friend Ito became the first Japanese person to fly a wingsuit. If he is not the first, he is definately the first Japanese Special Forces soldier to do so to date. Being it is his first time here(DZ), his first flight and being the first from his country to fly the suit, Ito owes LOTs of beer. I didn't quite understand every thing he said to me in Japanese when he landed but it sounded a lot like what all new birds have to say when they land; Ito was very happy. Welcome to the flock and good job Ito."It's just skydiving..additional drama is not required" Some people dream about flying, I live my dream SKYMONKEY PUBLISHING
Trae 1 #2 July 24, 2005 Ito might be able to get in touch with Hideo . Hideo is expert tracker and wingsuit flyer....and Japanese. This guy can out track a lot of guys wearing Classics. Watching him bobbin' along on his bubble is a fine thing indeed. Cheers divin' for those pearls.
TomAiello 26 #3 July 24, 2005 Go here and scroll down to the "outside the sport" section, and check the photo of Fumio Kubo launching his wingsuit off a big cliff in Norway. I'm sure that somewhere Fumio is smiling. -- Tom Aiello Tom@SnakeRiverBASE.com SnakeRiverBASE.com
LouDiamond 1 #4 July 25, 2005 So it appears Ito is not the first japanese citizen to fly the suit but I am positive he is the First Japanese Special Forces soldier to do so , so his ass is still buying beer (and Sushi) for lunch tomorrow"It's just skydiving..additional drama is not required" Some people dream about flying, I live my dream SKYMONKEY PUBLISHING

SkymonkeyONE 4 #6 July 25, 2005 He DID have a big, shit-eating grin on his face during the entire flight, didn't he? I did, though, think he was going to keep on flying toward Fort Bragg...
Brains 2 #7 July 25, 2005 Congrats to Ito. We had fun with him while he was here at SSM. His smile and enthusiasm is infectous. Tell him everyone at San Marcos says hi. Never look down on someone, unless they are going down on you.
