ScottyInAus 0 #1 June 19, 2006 Just wondering if the APF have any hard and fast rules re: wingsuit jumps. How many jumps are required to do a wingsuit jump, general rules etc. Checked the Op Regs and couldn't find anything on them. Thanks guys Cheers, Jason. Travman 6 #2 June 19, 2006 I think there is a Wingsuit hand book written by fergs. I believe its 200 jumps in 18 months or 500 jumps to able to take a first flight class.
ScottyInAus 0 #3 June 19, 2006 Yer I thought it was something like that, just not positive. Cheers, Jason.
LouDiamond 1 #4 June 23, 2006 Fergs asked me to help with this some time back and I believe I have a copy of the paper Fergs wrote for the Op Regs some where. I do not know what the APF has done with it or if it is currently part of the Op Reg. I do know that the requirements in that paper are the same that BirdMan recommends and that the USPA adopted, which recommends that skydivers have a minimum of 500 freefall skydives or a minimum of 200 freefall skydives in the last 18 months and receive one on one training from a wing suit instructor."It's just skydiving..additional drama is not required" Some people dream about flying, I live my dream SKYMONKEY PUBLISHING
fergs 0 #5 June 25, 2006 Jason (Scotty), I'll email you a copy of the doc - as it's too large to attach to this post. The APF sent a copy to all Aussie CI's a year or two back. They do not want to "regulate" wingsuit jumping per se. Rather, they want it to be much like free-flying, where precedures are in place to ensure all participants stay safe - and have fun as well. Contact me when you are ready to do a FFC. I'm at Picton (with demo suits) reasonably often. Or can you make Equinox Boogie up at ramblers? mccordia 74 #7 November 18, 2010 You could always try this, to get you this. And that shows you, 200 jumps in the last 18 months is the requirement, up untill you reach 500 jumps. JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
